About Taste Tours
Taste Tours is a social enterprise and charity which offers cultural food tours in the diverse suburbs and town centres of Sydney, as well as in the CBD. All tours are led by local guides, who share their secrets on the best places to eat and shop for authentic dishes and ingredients. Every tour includes tastings in-stores, cafes and restaurants, more than enough for lunch. We show you the sights and tell you all the local stories. All our profits are re-invested into tour guide training and employment for under or unemployed people to support them into the career path of their choice. Trainees are newly arrived migrants or refugees, or young people.

Fabulous to not only taste the food but to hear about it's history and preparation. Hidden gems which I will certainly revisit and recommend to friends.

A variety of venues were visited and food tasted in Bankstown, Sydney. The hosts catered for over 50 high school students with ease. Whether it was authentic rice paper rolls, Lebanese Pizza, deli cheese and meats, or exotic spices - the tastes and aromas were thoroughly enjoyed.

A good variety of very different food. Under the guidance of the delightful Alaa we tried both Eastern and Middle Eastern food. Safer area than I expected and due to Ramadan parking was limited. Woolworths carpark safe and convenient. I would like to have stopped in 1 restaurant/cafe to hear more about why certain food was special. Otherwise eating "on the go" was not a problem as Haldon Street is fairly flat and walking is easy.

We loved visiting an unfamiliar part of Sydney and meeting our lovely guide as well as other curious foodies. The food was delicious and we so enjoyed the cultural experience of being in such an ethnically diverse area. Just be sure to come with a good appetite and pace yourself, as there's a lot of food. Also bring some shopping bags, as you'll visit some fascinating stores with foodstuffs you probably won't find where you normally shop. We can't wait to share our finds with friends and family members.
