We'd booked a guided night time tour which was an ok experience except it absolutely bucketed down with rain thus we could not use the telescopes for the intended night/star watch. The planetarium talk was interesting as was the theatre part. Needless to say we...More

I’ve been to many observatories because I love it, however Sydney’s was just so boring. The exhibition is not interesting at all... just a few dull things, the dome is small, the presentation poor, I didn’t expect that. Really nothing to see. So disappointing. The...More

Visited with my wife. The exhibits at the observatory are uninspired and there is no opportunity for interaction. There is a tour but the times are limited. Having visited the observatory at Greenwich this was disappointing.

My partner organised a night out at the observatory which included a tour of the facilities and some star gazing. Can't recommend it enough, our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable and made it a memorable experience.

I knew we wouldn't see much due to the weather but our guide made very little effort to find anything to see. We saw Saturn briefly and although cloud cover was breaking up he pretty much told us that was a good as it would...More

Highly recommended to book a night tour of the Observatory so that you can see the night sky in all its glory!

We took a 90 min night tour (8.10-10pm) with our 3 teenage children. Our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable and passionate about her job, we enjoyed every minute of this tour. Well worth it! Tip: Arrive 20-30 min early to explore the museum before the...More

We came upon the observatory during one of our walks around Sydney. Admission was free: how unusual! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although small, the exhibits were interesting. The Observatory was established originally to keep time at Sydney.

I love the Sydney Observatory, they do some cool tours (I liked the bat tour I did) and you must go into the planetarium. The views of the city from on top the hill are pretty great too.

We didn’t quite know what to expect, but the tour was great! It was easy to get to, the size of the tour group was great as was the guide - very knowledgeable. Will be bringing my nieces and nephews. Great, informative night. Take warm...More

Hi David, Sometimes we can squeeze one into our 'car park' but typically no we can't handle a 25 seater as the car park is a rough dirt yard next door and reserved for trades and services. There is plenty of metered parking... More
