    Loved it
Great experience for primary school aged kids. I would suggest allowing a whole day. (The car parking is for 4 hours, but there are heaps of buses to the national library which is about 100 metres away)

    Science fun for the family
We enjoyed our visit, however did find it quite crowded in most galleries (had to queue for turns for many exhibits). I'd recommend booking to ensure you can enter at the time of your choice. To help with planning time, of the eight galleries, one gallery is dedicated to younger children (age 0 to 6), and the eighth gallery "Under the Moon" only took us a few minutes to go through; the others took more time. (We finished up faster than we thought we would.) Highlights for us were the earthquake simulator, and lightning simulator. We found paid parking easily outside the door (4 hour limit).
Thank you for visiting Questacon, we are glad you enjoyed your visit despite the crowds. Questacon is currently reviewing how best to operate during busy periods to ensure all our visitors have a positive experience. Great place for young families to enjoy science in a practical environment. Plenty of hands on activities to keep everyone busy for hours whilst learning. Definitely recommend this for any family trip to Canberra.

    Ticket policy
It’s a nice place to visit with family but probably they need to review their policies regarding entry time. We entered at 3 pm and centre close by 5 pm . Staff refused our request to enter next day with same ticket. My child was just 7 years and it was hard for him to finish in 2 hours. I think ideally either they should not allow entry or else accept the same ticket .
Thank you for visiting Questacon and taking the time to provide feedback. We are glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your time with us and are sorry to hear that you felt you did not have enough time to fully experience all that we had to offer. Whilst we recommend a minimum2-hour visit to Questacon, we understand that some visitors do need longer. Unfortunately, our tickets are only valid for the day (session) of purchase as per our terms and conditions. Our website provides information on planning your visit, including our closing time, which is also provided when you enter Questacon. We have passed on your feedback to the Visitor Experience Manager. We sincerely hope to welcome you to Questacon soon.

    Great value for money
Well prices for hours of entertainment for the whole family! The fire show was an absolute hit, however all 7 galleries were interesting and hands on. Highly recommend. We spent 3 hours and could have easily spent an additional 30-1 hour.

Questacon is set out extremely well with lots to see and do. The highlight was the fire show with David presenting. He was brilliant, knowledgeable friendly and captivating. We would go again to see him. Well done David!

Great indoor activity for the whole family.
Amazing place full of activities and learning. We old probably saw half of the things on offer. Kids and adults both really enjoyed it. Was the perfect place to go in a rainy day.

    Amazing day out for families
What an amazing place! We spent the whole day here and the kids wanted to stay for longer. Well priced tickets ($70 for family of 4), amazing staff who were all so helpful and passionate about their jobs, so much to see and do there. Had lunch in the cafe which was also reasonably priced. Honestly couldn’t fault the place. Awesome experience for families.

    Always fun for the kids
We usually visit Questacon when in Canberra, the kids love the interactive displays. The fee to get in is reasonable and it's great on a hot or rainy day when you just want to be inside. The cafe has pretty limited options and is pricey but the food is not bad. My only wish is that there were different shows in the Japan Theater, they repeat the same show a few times a day - it would be nice to have different ones on the same day as when we were there the show didn't interest our group and was for over 8+ which didn't suit my kids age group so we couldn't attend, they had 3-4 shows but they were all the same one.

Stopped in for the morning with our children after driving down from Sydney for a soccer match to be played that afternoon: all of our children have been to Questacon as part of their primary school's traditional Year 6 Canberra overnight trip, but we (their parents) had never been. Family ticket is for 2 adults and 3 children aged 4-16 yrs and you start from the top of the spiral and work your way down: there are 5 main galleries, each with its own theme, and the occasional side room with its own thing. Frankly, a lot of it felt a bit old & tired to me - bits and pieces of various puzzles or displays were missing and/or broken, the facial recognition system couldn't tell two eyes a nose and a mouth was a face, much of it felt well handled by lots of people over time. Handy stations with hand sanitiser about. Highlights for our kids were the wind machine were paper cup helicopters people had previously made could be floated (couldn't make your own - no more cups), the free fall slide (Asian lady couldn't follow instructions and banged her head) and the earthquake room (very rushed explanations from staff trying to muster up a shred of enthusiasm that didn't sound fake). Our kids enjoyed it, but I can't say that I did.

There is not start or end to this place! 4 levels and 8 different interactive rooms, the fun begins before you even enter. The park outside have interactive things for the kids to play with, once you come up to their outdoor alfresco area there is more activities for kids to start their juices of excitement going. $85 for family pass of 2 adults and 4 kids ages of 4, 6 and two 8 year olds. All the kids including my brother and I had such a blast, every room with interesting facts and many many interactive activities there is not enough time in a day for it. They also have live production presentation, we had the pleasure of watching liquid nitrogen being used and experimented on. Presenter was an absolute delight to watch, quite comical, very knowledgeable and engaged audience very well. I would have given this place a 10 star rating if I could, will visit this place each time I go there.

Great place to visit- so much to see and do. I suggest early morning visit as it does get very busy during school holidays. I believe the experience would be better with more guides around and maybe little queuing areas as kids see something and they just push in. It was very reasonably priced for what you get and I believe the ticket is good for 2 consecutive days which is a great idea.

Fantastic afternoon spent at Questacon with my daughter. Really we could have had the whole day there . Very interesting interactive experiences with a live show in view too. A coffee shop is on site and you can also bring your own picnic to have in tables provided outside . The current exhibition Born or Built is very thought provoking and interactive . Highly recommended.

I love science, and a science museum/centre is basically heaven for me. It was school holidays during my visit so it was understandably chockablock full, however it was still amazing. With multiple galleries, each with a different theme, the interesting exhibits were plentiful. Educational and fun!

Having visited a number of science museum both locally and overseas, the Questacon ranks very highly for us. We are here with our 7 year old son and we love how interactive the displays are.
Great job to the staff who were at hand to help explain the displays and also make it fun for the kids.
Despite the Covid restrictions where visiting time is only in 2 hour blocks, we enjoyed our time here. Highlight would definitely be the earthquake simulator. Don't miss it!
Definitely a must to visit if you have kids (perhaps 6 and above) but remember to book your tickets online early.

Heads up - you need a booking and get in quick in school holidays as the spots go very quickly. We were lucky enough to find some tickets due to a cancellation 2 weeks before we went. Overall a great experience! Kids thoroughly enjoyed it. 2 hours was enough time to get through and see everything. The younger kids (7) didn't get as much as the older kids out of it, but still kept them entertained. The kids really enjoyed the section at the end, testing their skills and we spent most of our time in this section. The lightening display was a real disappointment and don't recommend waiting around for it. From memory this was one of the highlights, but it has changed since I last visited (many years ago). Would recommend for families and curious adults.

On arriving we paid for parking lucky someone explained to me that we need to display the ticket in the car window as they where no information on the machine that we paid at.
We prepaid for the tickets and got though very quickly . Even though it was supposed to have a limited number of people in the venue it was very busy and a time the social distancing was nonexistent. I realise it was school holiday but in this day and age we should be more respectful of each other . On the whole the experience was good we had lunch and revisited some of the gallery again. If I was going to return I would pick the afternoon time slots maybe it would be a little quicker.
The cafe food some ok and the Coffee was very good
We all had a great time and the kids and myself did learn some things

Thank you for visiting Questacon and taking the time to provide feedback. We value your feedback and we are disappointed that we did not meet your expectations. The National Capital Authority (NCA) is responsible for, and manages the carparks surrounding Questacon. The NCA commenced paid parking, in part, as a response to the lack of parking for visitors to the many Cultural Institutions in the zone and to provide better access for all visitors to the parliamentary area. As such, Questacon is unfortunately not in a position to address your concerns in regards to the parking. We encourage you to provide direct feedback to the NCA via, natcap@natcap.gov.au During busy periods such as school holidays, we roster on additional staff as well as schedule extra activities and shows. This is to ensure all our visitors receive a great experience, and we find that most visitors enjoy the self-paced nature of their Questacon visit. We hope that you are able to visit us again soon in a less busy period. Your feedback has been valuable and will be passed on to relevant business areas.
