A very unpleasant incident today with the property manager there.

When we were driving out in lunch time, the only exit way has been blocked by another car as the owner of the car was talking to a man standing beside the car. They have no intention to move away from the driveway when my car was behind him for a little while, so I gave them a little horn just to let them know someone is waiting behind them. Then they looked at me, I waved my hand and smiled to them. The car has then moved away, but the man standing there approached me and asked me to wind down the window. He said to me "do you know I am talking to my customer" , oh I thought he was trying to apologise to me for blocking the driveway. I said to him I was just letting you know someone is waiting behind you.

He said to me I am the property manager here, then I said if you are the property manager, you should know the rules here and not blocking the way of others.
He said to me "I can issue you a trespasser", for what? For just because he didn't like to get the little horn while he was blocking the way.
I feel like he was threatening me with his authority.
This property manager should not be in any of the management role, it is a shame on Alexander Park to have this rude person, he was using his authority for non-legitimate reasons, and sounds like he can do whatever he wants there.

Horrible experience on Mother’s Day!!! Probably the worse ever! Made a booking on Mother’s Day and when we arrived we were told half of their menu wasn’t available. We had asked them to let us know if there were any changes before our booking but no communication was made. This was the worst experience and for that we will never return for large bookings! The staffs really need to learn how to do their job properly otherwise people are going to make them cry due to their incompetence service!

A good night out. Plenty of racing action - relaxed and great access to betting facilities . Meal in the restaurant was very good indeed. Moderately priced with a wide ranging menu. Great surroundings in which to enjoy the meal and see the action

We have lunch here frequently, at the The Alex Bar and Eatery. You can buy cabinet food and it is very nice too. Yesterday I had a lovely roll smothered in pumpkin seeds, and full of delicious ham and cheese, toasted, and it was $6.50. Snacks/meals, can also be bought off the menu. They serve Breakfast 7am - 1pm daily, Lunch and meals from 11am to 9.30pm. In the evening they have a full blackboard menu, and some nights there is a buffet. Overall the cost is reasonable, the food delicious and moreish, and the staff are great. You can sit in two areas, but we mostly sit looking out at the race ground, unless there is a private function, and then we sit on the entrance/bar area, where there is also an outdoor sitting/eating area. We have been going here for the 10+ years we have lived in Auckland, so that kind of speaks for itself. There are, in a separate area, pokey machines, and betting facilities. It is a relaxed, enjoyable, spacious place to enjoy.

We were in Auckland on a Friday night and decided to go to the trots at Alexandra Park. Parking was easy and free in the course and entry was also free. The public have access to a number of lounges where you can view the racing and also have a meal and drink. The meals are varied, appetizing and relatively cheap.

All in all a cheap night of entertaining in a relaxing, warm and interesting environment

Great night out
Well organised
Parked and had a shuttle drop us off from the car park to the venue
Amazing door to door service
Great selection of drink included in our package
Good selection of salads , hot food and desert
Followed by coffee , tea and crackers with cheese
Friendly staff
It was our first time to the races and it would have been great if the guys taking the bets would explain how it works
They were really not that friendly nor helpful
Only complaint would be that the waiters took extremely long to clear the tables after dinner

Hard to beat the value here - free entry!

Our first Auckland Cup New Years’ Eve experience and it was great.

Facilities are tidy, food and beverage service are well organized and the whole setup is professional and fit for purpose. Meals were extremely good value in a Club type style and quality.

Free fireworks were impressive particularly with how close you are to them.

Being a regular attender at the New Zealand Cup, the Christchurch equivalent, I expected a slightly bigger occasion in all regards. The fashion was as modest as the crowd size, and while the track setting is very pleasant, I expected bigger in Auckland. Sadly they’ve sold a big prime part of the site to apartment developers who have since collapsed and left half finished towers onsite.

A very good experience.

Hi we booked for 6 people and added another 2 for the 8th Dec. We would like to give some feedback.
When we arrived we went to place a bet there were only 2 ladies working and we gave her a $50.00 note they did not have change not very good as we had withdrawn the funds that we were going to use for the night. We had to have a scramble around to find the correct money. Again at the end of the night we went to cash in our winning tickets and joined the long Que as there was only one lady on at that stage only to be told she had no change I was okay as she needed $1.90 coin to round up to a note as I only had $1.70 lose in my purse I was able to get my winnings. Poor lady took the .20 cents from her own purse. Goodness knows how the people behind me got on.
As the last race was running all the glasses were taken from our table all the pens were collected. We were under the impression that the place was still open until at least 10.30. The bar closed as soon as the last race was over. I was the sober driver and went to the bar to ask for 1 glass of wine they gave me the dregs from a bottle that only quarter filled my glass and did not bother to open a new bottle.
A waitress came up behind my son an accidentally dropped a glass that was on her already full tray the glass plus some bottles fell on the floor and split drink on my son apologies and lots glass was split on the table and floor it have been nice if she has offered an apology.
All in all it was a dreadful experience and I felt that it very embarrassing for us as we had recommend this event. Please note this was not a cheap night out but it really felt like the staff were just going through the motions. Not something we will ever recommended to anyone else. I am not a person who ever complains but I felt I needed to this time.

This was a diner package with a meal etc for a Christmas function. We would not recommended this to anyone.
