Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Poor service in the Barrels today. I order 3 pints and pay by card. All was fine, transaction went through, so sat down to enjoy the drink. Then one of the bar staff approached me to say that my card was refused! I was made to feel guilty and was asked to check my on line account! Then the manager appeared as if by magic! After a consultation with the bar staff he said that everything was OK! I would understand if my card was refused initially, but to be told my card was refused a good half hour after the transaction is poor! The manager needs to sort out some of the staff in this pub or be more customer friendly!

First time visiting and I'm sure it won't be the last. I'll bring more work colleagues next time. Great staff and ownership. Just lovely people running the place. Amazing atmosphere and good prices for the drinks. Me and my girl friends had a great time. Just a nice place to go and catch up for a few hours.

Six Barrels is an independent free-trading bar that sells locally brewed ales, ciders, porters and stouts. There’s also a good range of spirits and wines, so everyone’s happy.
We visited for the first time on Sunday 29th December when it was busy but not packed with a friendly darts match in progress.
We found dominoes on our chosen table so had a few games while sipping delicious ‘Stoke’ ale (my partner had Raspberry gin and tonic in a proper glass) served by very nice & chatty bar staff.
Kevin, the owner took the time to chat to us to see how we liked the establishment which was nice; we had quite a conversation and we left impressed with him, his dedication and the quantity of good product on offer.
If, like me you believe in supporting local trade, please support the Six Barrels!
We’ll 100% be back.
This premises used to be Noo Thai and is next to ‘Domino’s’ pizza.

A lovely cosy craft beer Pub, awesome selection of beers! You can also grab a take away and eat in. Perfect date spot before the comedy!

Great local and super friendly pub. Weekends this little place hosts some amazing bands and talented singers. Both landlords and staff are exceptional accommodating and respectful almost reminds us of a ‘mini cheers’ bar! Alone or with friends this place always makes you welcome and leave with good vibes

I was surprised to be able to just walk into this bar with a couple of friends without being asked if I was going to order food. Ok we were kind of pushing our luck a bit because we thought we would be turned away. We were also surprised we were not asked to sign into the bar through the track and trace system. Our names were not taken either. We ordered our beers and went to sit outside. Once the drinks came out she said ‘I’ve had to add a pasty for each drink, ok’. We hadn’t asked for the pasties, but we thought fair enough. Hardly substantial, we nibbled at our FROZEN, yes, FROZEN pasties. Then, I needed the toilet. As I walked though the bar I was shocked to see people stood shoulder to shoulder with no masks on. A sweaty, damp smell hit me as I walked in from outside, far from safe and no ventilation. The toilet was filthy and from what I experienced NO hot water. As I walked back outside I couldn’t see any antibacterial gel either. Truly disgusting. I’m not at all surprised that the place is now the centre of a COVID outbreak.

Picked up a take out on Christmas Eve.
The bar was full, not much social distancing going on.
Condensation running down the windows.
Apparently a cheap pasty on a paper plate with plastic cutlery is a substantial meal!
Now there is a Facebook posting about a Covid outbreak. What a shocker!
