My husband and I have taken our three grandsons here half a dozen times in last 12 months now 4.5 yrs and 21 months and can totally recommend for babies and upto ten as the area is very large and split into suitable age groups. Parental supervision obviously required. Id say the baby sensory room needs some extra consideration. The fibre lights werent working today and a sensory wheel has disappeared and its generally a bit tired.I think more could be included without too much expense- I think they are careful about safety (entrance in and out is by staff releasing door) plus areas have a switch system too and all bars are wrapped in thick vinyl covered foam so our 4 yr old loves to climb over these and climb up all the netting. Theres a large platform where kids can play ball games and ride on small indoor go kart track with 3 vehicles tho these and the kiddie rides are often switched off which is a bit annoying cos altho entry isnt an astronomical cost- it IS a cost and if kids are looking forward to ride its just a bit disappointing but its probably a good idea to switch off on very heavy days- safety again? The little cafe is good and the food is usually promptly served and right portion sizes for kids + little drinks- usual nuggets or fish fingers but Im told our eldest has baked potato, cheese and spaghetti there which is less usual and today they had a really nice selection of fruit. They do parties for kids as many places do and they always look organised and fun and the staff have are really helpful and work hard cleaning up after everyone. Id say the toilets ARE very clean and (in dispute with another review- the only time it wasnt, a staff member attended to it right away with no problem. Again that is a tired area with a little maintenance needed - there is definitely one door that needs attention but adequate overall in the baby changing area and its a safe and comfortable place to take your family. There is good parking but you may struggle on busy/rainy days- hard to get in if someone coming out when so many cars are now quite large almost trucks. The kids love it anyway and the time flies and now the twins have started to walk- theres more they can do. I noticed today that they have installed some super dooper plush new american diner style benches near party area. Congratulations- these look amazing and fun. Keep up the good work FUNHOUSE-dont know what wed do without you. Thanks loveley staff.

I used to work in a play centre and know how tough they are to keep clean but standards are very poor at the Funhouse. We mainly used the toddler area and there was food everywhere. Being 15 months old my little girl wanted to pick it up and eat it, so I pretty much spent my whole visit stopping her doing that. There is dust in all of the nooks and crannys and the mattress seams are disgusting. The place is dull and dark. It looks tired. The frame is quite an old model lacking the creativity of some of the newer places. We did like the sensory area though. I'd probably just go somewhere else next time though.

5th Birthday Party

My little boy and his friends loved his party here on the 31st March. We chose the 10.15-12.15 slot and practically had the play centre to ourselves. No party games but the kids just wanted to have fun in the play area. The host Dani was really friendly and organised everything, as parents we literally just turned up with the cake. Reasonably priced party compared to similar in the area, and party bags and a drink for the parents included in the party price. Highly recommend!

Value for money is exceptional.

I find the actual soft play excellent, there are three separate sections for different age ranges. The medium and the large are really sizeable especially compared to all others in the area. Then add on top of that a small sensory room and another room which is filled with crafts, toys etc I just think the facilities here are fantastic. We go on the toddler mornings which have just been expanded to four days a week where they put out toast, cereal, juice and biscuits. Entry, plus the snacks plus one brew just for £3 per child, you can’t beat that. My one and only quibble would be the toilets could do with some toddler friendly features like small seats to put on the toilets for little bums and stools at the sinks.

Ripoff!

First time going to this place and it will probably be the last time. Entrance attendant was rude, I was with a friend who paid first she was charged full price for a 1 year old as well as a 4 year old and 7 year old. Meals were expensive and cold when they arrived at the table, considering how long they took to cook I expected them to be pipping hot. Staff seemed to be making prices up, £1 for a packet of crisps! £1.20 for small milky bar, and one member of staff kept the change and dropped it in the tips jar. Older children in the babies play area that were throwing balls at babies, staff are needed to monitor these play areas. Very few staff to monitor the various areas and some areas were extra. The only up side was adults went free. Awful 90's music blasting out, which seemed to get louder the busier it got. Place was filthy too tables hadn't been cleaned or emptied. You're only allowed to stay there for 2 hours, you're then called over the PA system to leave a.s.a.p. or pay for another 2 hours. A couple of the areas were closed off due to broken parts. Place was chaos and completely disorganized.

Do not bother- unhygienic, dirty, rude staff
Feb 2019 • Family
I have been to the Funhouse numerous times over the years. However, today I have never seen anything like it!!!! It was busy, but there was no excuse for the level of uncleanliness!! Tables were left for over 45 minutes with dirty food and plates. One couple waited 10 minutes for someone to clear the table! I cleared and cleaned the table we were going to use. There was clearly not enough staff, which considering it it the school holidays, you would have thought it would have been catered for. Fridges were broke, and others were empty, and not through selling out of stuff! There was a wait of over 1 hour for food, and when I looked in the kitchen near the dish washer, it was filthy with dirty water and leftover food! I am extremely grateful I didn’t order food. The cake that we did get tasted funny, there was a ladder in the servers area which was not being used, nor was there any health and safety signs. The service from staff has never been a strong point, but today the staff were rude, and the supervisor in charge was young (which isn’t a problem) but clearly didn’t have any leadership skills. Then we go on to the bathroom. Luckily I did not use but my niece did! I have attached a photo of the feces smeared on the wall, and the overflowing rubbish bin! This place is unhygienic, and clearly can’t cope with a busy afternoon. The owners should take note as health and safety would have a field day!! They need to sort it out especially where children are. I have also attached a copy of the photo of the table where food remained for over 45 minutes. That’s not to mention all the leftover food on the floor. Shame as it used to be a good place to take the kids!
