The sensation of the late 18th century in the field of botany was the discovery of a new continent filled with exotic plants unknown to the rest of the world. The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan displays around 2000 of these, set in 416 hectares of hills and lakes. The Garden features a number of ecosystems unique to Australia including the endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland, native wildlife, children' playground, restaurant, picnic shelters, free gas barbecues, and a gift shop and nursery. The Australian Botanic Garden is the largest botanic garden in Australia and the most popular visitor attraction in the Camden district.

We regularly visit the gardens and have hired the venue for my daughter's engagement party, and also hire shelter sheds for our car club Christmas party - love going in different seasons to see the changes in vegetation or just for a bbq. Due to...More

Just off the M21, this garden is definitely worth a visit, especially if you have overseas visitors with you and you want to introduce them to Australian native plants. There's a cafe called Melaleuca House where you can have a tea/coffee and maybe one of...More

Great place to go for a run or a walk. Really incredibly well maintained. I go all the time. How lucky to have this right on our doorstep.

Do not visit these gardens if you have any mobility issues. I was escorted out by security because I needed a light weight collapsible aluminium chair to rest on. They claim it was a breach of their rules but would not provide any proof of...More

Had driven past the Australian Botanic Garden on numerous occasions, but didn't realise just how huge the gardens were. Well worth stopping in for a drive through, look around or picnic. There is even an amazing cafe.

The Botanic Gardens in Mount Annan is quite possibly my favourite garden. I would say it's even better then the one in the city. So much parking and and seating (both shaded and not) available. Plenty of toilet facilities and parent facilities. Plus an onsite...More

Pretty good playground for the children, cafe if you get hungry and beautiful landscapes around. Would be a stunning place to get married, possibly hold a birthday as well.

We visited Mount Annan at end of September and thought it was a fantastic place. It is obvious that an enormous amount of work has gone into the setup and landscaping and especially in making a wide range of plants feel at home and grow,...More

I would doubt you could as the garden is in the middle of suburbia and drones cannot be flown in built up areas.
