Spent 3 hours touring the park. Late October the diversity of species is impressive, the set up with all the observation barns is very well done. I am not a bird person u I really enjoyed the park. Bring binoculars, or rent them, a must.

Lovely well kept bird sanctuary, informitive booklet, shame that they don't produce one in English. Lots of "hides" often staffed by well informed wardens. Easy walk, wheel chair and push chair friendly. Very good restaurant, clean toilets.

Having been members of the British wildlife and wetlands trust for many years, this place is similar but smaller and a fantastic cafe/restaurant at the end! There are three walks, from easy to normal to slightly harder! None will tax a reasonably able adult, but...More

The Parc Ornithologique de la Marquenterre is comparable to the WWT sites like Slimbridge. It has a "parcours pedagoguiqe of captive birds, and a series of lakes and wet meadows for wild birds. Even the "wild" section holds birds which are only passing migrants in...More

Storks feeding their young, fledged spoonbills flying around, and herons standing sentry; the most stunning views of these magnificent birds. Then there are the waders, avocets, stilts, grebes, widgeon and various other ducks. And the real rarities, night herons and cattle egrets. This park in...More

What a lovely haven. So many interesting birds in a picturesque environment. A choice of walks dependent on time and ability. Good paths, plenty of viewing points. Just loved the frogs, so noisy and sociable. Saw several storks, even saw chicks nesting. A real joy....More

We had a wonderful time walking threw the marshes and lakes. Many birds of many species nest on small islands and hovering above. The park is well maintained. There are many shelters for birdwatching without disturbing the wildlife. Nice set of placards with interesting information...More

Very nicely preserved set of fresh water and salt water marches where bird watchers will feel at home. Entrance is rather pricy (10.5 euro/person) but the setting is great and the walkways are well maintained. Motivated guides are available for questions and pointing out to...More
