Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Google is out of date. Turn into Aldworth Road from SH1. A few off road car spaces. The worst bit is the walk up the side by the sheep as its exposed to the sun. Once in the shade the 30/40 minute (including stops examining nature) walk is pleasant and up and downy which follows a figure of 8. A 5 year old managed the whole walk without problems and there are loads for everyone to see. Could be better signed but even if you get lost it's small enough to find your way out. Look for the white pointy bit (a memorial to originator of the park) and find the impressive gate that now leads to nowhere. Not our first visit which means we like it.

Lovely bush with some fabulous large natives and some bird song. Track was suffering a bit from lack of maintenance (probably another victim of lockdowns) and was a bit boggy in places but a really nice easy opportunity to stretch the legs on the trip down the island
DOC loo at the beginning of the track was in great condition but beware the magpie-sized mosquitos!

This track is just off the main road, south of Hunterville. A fantastic figure 8 loop track into the bush with some great native trees - easily walked by young children in less than 30 minutes. It's a great place to stretch the legs on a road trip. There is a toilet by where you park which has to be the cleanest public toilet we've seen on our travels - well done DOC on this walk and the toilet facilities.

The bush had nice and informing name of the most important edemic and native trees and for a foreighner from the far north it was very interesting I would really like to go there again!
