The hotel has been rebranded but the quality of their restaurant is still very good. The selection is somewhat limited but tasty.

I found this senter completely taken over as a hotel, and the Stiklestad museum was a side-note - poorly executed - so little information considering it's such an important milestone in Norway's history. I hear that the play that is here in the summer is...More

This is a national historic sight - the site of the battle in which King/Saint Olaf was killed. As a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota (USA), how could I pass by without visiting this site? I found it to be very interesting,...More

At the end of July each year the oldest outdoor historic play is performed at Stiklestad. Great efforts from a huge number of professionals and amateurs. Only in Norwegian though.

I brought my kids here, ages 1-17, and they all loved it. This may end up being the highlight of our trip to Norway. The staff was wonderful, really friendly and knowledgable! The "museum" was so hands on. The kids dressed up, baked bread, swung...More

Very interesting place with substantial national and global significance. But its really important to pay attention to winter/summer dates of operation, as during the winter dates it is open but has minimal activity. Call ahead for dates of the St Olav performances, medieval market, etc.
