Mind blowing, taste buds dancing, food for the soul 🥰
The most amazing Mexican food my boyfriend and I have ever had the pleasure of cooking and eating. Chef Ale is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent instructor. She provided the blend of history, culture and authenticity we were craving without dilution while modernizing to create a menu that allowed for use of kitchen gadgets most have at home. Her behind the scenes crew of Mayan helpers did a superb job of anticipating our every need and doing the prep work to make the excursion the smoothest cooking experience! I felt like I spent the day with an aunt cooking, eating, and laughing. Even though it was a very long day of being on our feet we left with full bellies and happy hearts. ❤️❤️

    Food and Philosophy
Food and Philosophy. What could be better? This was one of the most delightful travel experiences I’ve ever had. Chef Alejandra guided us through the preparation of authentic and delicious Mexican fare in her stunning kitchen in the jungle. She’s an excellent chef and teacher, but she’s also a philosopher. I could have spent much more time enjoying her food, wisdom, and joyful approach to life. Give yourself a special treat and take a class.

    Love it!
Great authentic Mexican food experience! Highly recommend it! Quality food and chef. Can’t wait to return. It’s in the middle of the jungle but well worth the trip. It took us 40 minutes from Cancun.

A must do , high light of our trip
What an amazing experience, learning to cook awesome dishes and getting to eat them 😋😋. Alejandra is such a great chef , full on knowledge and passion for the Mexican way of cooking . The setting for cooking school is so colourful ,welcoming and relaxing. Would definitely book again when we are back in cancún .They sorted out our pick up from our resort and drop back after so seamless. Thanks again Alejandra, I was hoping to make some tamales on the 2nd of February but I'm hinder by the rugby 6 nations kicking off on the Friday. But I will make them soon

    Fantastic tour all around
This was a great tour. Claudia was a wonderful guide who showed us some of the best restaurants in Valladolid, other great excursions like Chichén Itzá and a melipona bee tour, and led a great cooking class featuring salsas, fresh tortillas, and more. A major highlight was the day spent with Chef Rosalia. Highly recommended!
Brian, it was a pleasure to have you visit and give you a gastronomic journey that you enjoyed!!! We hope you come back soon for more adventures and to enjoy Mexican food!

Alejandra and her team were absolutely amazing. They were flexibly with our booking, offering our group a private event when there wasn't availability for our preferred time online. In addition, they accommodated both a pescatarian and a shrimp allergy! The location was charming and bright. Alejandra was personal, engaging and full of knowledge and interesting facts. This PLUS everything we prepared, ate and drank was delicious. This was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend!

We first learned about Chef Rosalia on the show Chef's Table on Netflix. We take an annual trip to Cancun and just knew that we had to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience. 10 of us traveled 3 hours to Yaxunah to have lunch with Chef Rosalia at 11:30 a.m. It was hands down some of the absolute best food we have ever had- relleno negro, tamales, fresh tortillas, and the cochinita pibil is absolutely next level delicious. While we did not speak Spanish or Mayan in order to interact directly with Rosalia, it did not matter-- joy and passion just radiates from her the entire time. She and her family are beyond happy to share their knowledge and traditions with anyone willing to experience them. Afterwards we visited Chichen Itza to round out our Mayan adventure. I cannot recommend this culinary experience enough!!!

What a fantastic experience to cook and learn at Mexico Lindo. It was such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and Chef Claudia made this an exceptional experience, made even better with her great sense of humor. Claudia is very knowledgeable and it was really informative talking about Mexico across the full spectrum of food, traditions, geographic regions, and history. It was a nice bonus to walk through the garden with Claudia explaining all the different plants and how they’re used.
We did the Yucatan Delights class and everything tasted amazing, really love all the details added in; such as traditional drinks, a lesson in cacao beans and making traditional hot chocolate, the snack of jicama, mango and cucumber with spices was delicious, and the presentation of everything was beautiful. I really enjoyed making handmade tortillas, Paula is such a pro. Both Paula and Silver are Mayan and were so friendly and full of smiles. Using fresh local ingredients in a nice atmosphere making traditional Mexican food, we had a wonderful time.
Yes, it is kind of in the middle of the jungle, but that is part of the charm and it is very much worth the trip!

I have been to 2 other cooking classes in Montreal , lots of fun but nothing compared to this amazing experience. From the moment we arrived I knew this was no ordinary cooking class. The location is magical & the decor whimsical. Alejandra is not only a great chef, but an amazing hostess. Felt like she was welcoming us into her home. She is so interesting & shares her knowledge of culture, gardens & food. We learned how to cook Mexican food,as well as how to chop properly and some general cooking basics, that I was unaware of. Shout out to the 2 sous chefs who helped with some of the prep & preparing the dishes for presentation, I would highly recommend this unforgettable experience & can’t wait to try out the receipes when we get back to the UK.

This was without question the highlight of our recent trip to Mexico. The private event hosted by Rosalia at her home was incredible experience that was worth renting a car and driving 3 hours for. Contrary to what some other reviewers have said, we had a fabulous time and found the time with the Chay family unbelievable. I was convinced that it would be a tourist trap with trinkets for sale and no real interaction with Rosalia or her family.

I could not have been more wrong - the tour of the property came with a thorough explanation of the way each of the plants was used, the demonstration of traditional cooking practice was authentic and inspirational, and the meal was award-winning. My wife and I have been privileged to eat at some of the world's top restaurants and this meal was truly memorable.

Moreover Rosalia and her family were humble, generous, and of unimpeachable character. Despite people from all over the world coming to her house for this experience, it was authentic and unchanged by the hype. Our four year old had an incredible time exploring the property, getting a taste for a different culture, and playing with Rosalia's children.

Bottom line, book this tour, you won't regret it.

Chef Rosalía Chay’s food experience was a highlight of our recent Yucatan vacation. Set in her home in the small village of Yaxunah, about 1/2 hour south of Chichén Itzá, it’s an amazing 3-hour immersion in Maya food and culture. Our host Claudia expertly and, with a sense of humor, explained the whole process of traditional Maya cooking. We sampled ingredients, including achiote paste made from trees in Rosalía’s yard, tasted the three different kinds of recado used in Maya cooking, and even made our own tortillas over the wood fire. We capped off our visit with the most delicious cochinita pibil and relleno negro, started in the pit or “pib” at 4:00 am that morning. We are appreciative that Chef Rosalía is keeping alive - and sharing - the traditions of her Maya ancestors. Truly an incredible food and cultural experience!

The ruins of Yaxunah, an ancient Maya city that was at one time connected to Coba by a raised road, lie just outside the village. Seldom visited due to it’s remote location, we were the only ones there during the hour we spent walking off that fabulous meal. It was the perfect way to end our Maya experience.

I have eaten all over Mexico and the world. I can say with complete confidence that this meal is by far the best food I have ever eaten. Words cannot describe the flavours that Chef Rosalia Chay Chuc puts into her food. I will not even try because I cannot do it justice. It was so incredible. She invites people into her home, educates us on Mayan food and cooking and so much more. It is an experience one must do. I will do it again. Thank you Chef Rosalia for inviting us into your home.

We had a really great time at this cooking class and would highly recommend it to fellow travelers! My husband and I are foodies and we knew we wanted to do a cooking class on our vacation. We made our reservations at Mexico Lindo way ahead of time to make sure we had a spot! When we arrived at the cooking school, we were amazed at how picturesque it is, and I really appreciated how they use bright color throughout the property. It truly feels like a little oasis. We started the day with pastries, marmalade, Mexican coffee, and special hot chocolate. Yum! We toured the organic garden, which was definitely a highlight for me as a fellow gardener. In the kitchen, we cooked a whole suite of salsas, stuffed peppers, carnitas, sweet tamales, and more. Chef gave us a thorough lesson in how to use a knife properly, which was super helpful. At the end of the day, we all shared the fruits of our labor and everything was delicious! The chef was a fantastic host and teacher, and the staff were all very friendly. The property was clean and beautiful. The menu was extremely thoughtful and you can tell that a lot of love went into planning the meal and the whole business, overall. I’d highly recommend this experience! One logistical thing to note for travelers— our class did go a bit long, which was a great bonus but also a bit stressful because we had planned our cab ride ahead of time and felt really bad that our driver had to sit and wait while we enjoyed our meal. I’d recommend waiting to plan transportation or giving yourself a little extra time. There is free Wi-Fi on the property so it would be easy to contact a cab driver before the meal starts, for example.
We had an awesome day and if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be back to try out another menu!!

We had the best day of our vacation here. Maybe the best day of any vacation. The spot is beautiful. The instruction is not limited to cooking it’s also a food history lesson. The team were absolutely welcoming and kind. The chef was very friendly and full of great cooking advice and interesting stories. We can’t wait to go again on a different day for a different menu.

Our culinary adventure with Rosalia Chay Chuc in Yaxunah, Yucatan was a delight! Learning about the history and techniques of Mayan cooking was informative and enjoyable. Host Claudia was knowledgable and a hoot--thanks, Claudia! We loved visiting the nearby local cenote. The cochinita pibil meal was uniquely delicious...and those last drink items were extraordinary!❤️
