This place is under new management and is obviously moving to being just a hotel. It's a shame, because when I visited two years ago, it was the highlight of our trip. The host/owner had been so knowledgeable, and gave us a great tour and the tasting included TEN different mezcals and tequilas. The owner personally picked out all the tequilas/mezcals he stocked and we then picked out our favorites to buy at excellent prices.
This time I called ahead and made a reservation, but it was more expensive and basically they are just running through the stock that was left over from the former owner. There is nothing to buy, and the new manager or employee that we interacted with didn't spend much time telling us about any of them. I understand that obviously the business model has changed, and it wasn't horrible for what it was, but very disappointing after such an excellent prior experience. We'll be looking for a new place to do tequila tastings now, as I don't think they'll keep this up once the stock runs out.
I can't speak to the hotel experience, it's a cute set up and all, but if you went here before for tequila, you won't find what you're looking for.

The guide was very enthusiastic about the manufacturing process. His knowledge and delivery was impressive. Unfortunately my friends and I were expecting to see an actual factory, making tequila. It was a simple display of the process of manufacturing the product so was disappointing. There was an array of different types of tequila and the tasting was enjoyed by all.

I loved my stay at hotel tequila. Price for the night is great. Rooms are clean and food is delicious. The service was really good. Everyone was very nice. I highly recommend it! Great experience. Tequila tasting was so fun!

I dont even drink and let me tell u I HAD A BLAST .. we had all the fun all the drinks all the pics n laughs it's a must go .. Adriano had knowledge of his craft and recommended other things to do in Cancun .. had the right music vibe and feel going .. I'll definitely go back again when I go back

Original site of the family owned business which is now an outlet for the current distillery 300 kilometres away. Some historical equipment features at this site with a short tour. There is a extensive tequila tasting that follows the short tour. Admission is free as is the tasting session. Interesting tour

We arrived 45 minutes before it opened - based on our hotel concierge advising it was open. Our taxi driver made a call and they were on their way to open for us! Within 15 minutes the doors were opened and we had a tour - amazing how the agave grows. The highlight was the tasting, of course! After many types and sips, we made our purchases. The bottle artwork is unique. The gentleman who treated us so well on April 2 was terrific!!

The best Tequila in town. Forget Don Julio, Patron and all those commercialized tequilas. This is legit stuff. Javier, our tour guide was beyond amazing. Friendly and welcoming place.

This trip is one that most hotels can organise for free which sounds ok but they leave you there for 45 minutes before picking you back up and taking you to the local town. Lovely trip but sales people are quite pushy.

Hello Kathy. I think you’re not talking about our place. We don’t have any spices and chocolate tequila. We have our own tequila brand called “el Berrinche” which is 100% artisanal. We would like to invite you to come during your next visit to Cancun and have the real tequila expierience with us! You won’t regret it!

It was a great place to visit! A nice surprise in the middle of the highway. The place is amazing! They explain you all the tequila process and then you can have a tequila tasting.
By the way... the tequila is sooooo good! Best I’ve ever had!, and the bottles are beautiful!

You do not need to book, you can always message the owner to let them know you'll be coming so they know in advance.

Take a Taxi and drive to there, or you can take a bus to the down town and then take a PLAYA EXPRESS to Playa del Carmen, and ask for a stop in the Tequila Factory Cancun near de Motel sensations.
