Hi - the water is cold so if you intend doing a lot of swimming - you will need a wet suit, As for food the coffee van, near the caravan park has lovely coffee. A few of the cafes are closed at the moment because it the Christmas/New year break. We intend trying Ozone cafe today as it has been recommended highly to us. Rin & Co at the village is a health food shop and cafe if you are into that as I am. The Pub in the village is OK for meals. It's an awesome getaway. My family did the Mt Taranaki walk - challenging but worth it. Definitely do the Pekeura Park - we are heading there to see the lights tonight but have been there during the day. Have a great time
