Numa placa informativa, na parte baixa da grande escadaria de acesso ao topo, onde está esta capela, podemos ler:
"Construída com o ganho das esmolas dos fiéis de Santo António, no século XVII, a capela de planta retangular possui um conjunto de azulejos, da mesma época, que se destaca e um arco triunfal pleno com a imagem de Santo António. A ermida é conhecida também pelas suas pinturas que mostram uma figura híbrida com um crucifixo ao peito".
Este local vale pela vista panorâmica em redor, com o Castelo de Porto de Mós em destaque, uma vez que a capela está orientada na sua direção.
