We enjoyed this very much. Only a short drive from Hatton. Amazing views from here. We had a good cup of black tea and butter cake. Just like Grandma used to make. We brought some tea here as well. The Mlesna tea is good quality. Great stop for morning tea.

Beautiful small castle, where you can have delicious afternoon tea, lunch, tea tasting experience, nice views or simply just tea shopping. Very friendly staf. You can see Devon falls from the top of the building - worth to go and see!
We did the tea tasting session with explanation which is worth it. It was free of charge if you buy some tea later.
It gets quite busy in the restaurant.

If nothing else, a good stop to buy some good quality tea that can be used as a gift or souvenir from Sri Lanka or you or someone else.
The place has a small museum where is the process of making black tea explained. For my surprise, there was not such interest int that for the place's visitors than going for a restaurant or the shop.
The restaurant offers some meals, a lot of teas, and it also has some cakes. For some reason, curry meals were not available on the day when I visited the place, which is shame, but manageable. As a desert, I went for a piece of chocolate cake, which was supposed to be the least sweet cake from the offer. Even that one was sweet more than enough for me and I split it with my boyfriend, cause I was not managing it whole.
The shop has touristic prices, but for tourists it's not that bad and you can always ask a shopping assistant for a recommendation for the tea of your liking, exactly as I did.

Situated at Hatton, Nuwara eliya Road, this is an amazing location with feel of a castle, here in Sri Lanka.
Views are wonderful and ideal place for a snack.
But, prices are bit high on main food items and food quality needs to be improved.Service levels needs to be improved as well.
Recommended to have tea on your way to Nuwara eliya.

The place is lovely with an amazing view point!!

But do yourself a favour and only get tea or a snack from this place instead of a full meal.
Food is very mediocre with expensive prices and small portion sizes!
We ordered a chicken masala curry (Rs 1100/=) and received a ridiculously small portion of a typical sri lankan curry. Rest of the food was disappointing as well.

It is our second time stopping at Mlesna Tea Castle. This time also we enjoyed a great breakfast with Ginger Tea. You can select and order your favorite sandwiches and tea recipe from their breakfast menu.
Restaurant staff provided fast service. It has clean and spacious washrooms.
They maintain a beautiful flower garden other than a tea shop.
We enjoyed the great view from the top flow viewpoint and took great photos.
We will not miss the Mlesna Tea Castle en route to Nuwara Eliya via Hatton road.

Architectural marvel plus tea boutique. We visited their tea shop and learned about many tea varieties. It is a self serving shop and you can choose what you want with the help of them. Also we could watch some old machinery used in tea production process. They also have a cafe area where you can buy tasty products plus a cup of tea.

A definite stop on the long journey from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya through the Hatton route! It's typically an awesome place for a cup of fresh Ceylon Tea, plus a slice of Chocolate Cake :)

The last trip we stopped by for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The food was worth the value, came in piping hot and taste fresh. The service of the restaurant staff was pretty great.

As an added bonus, the venue hosts a mini Tea Museum which might be interesting for kids, or tea lovers. It's also got a Tea Shop with an extensive selection of every possible flavor of tea you could think of, plus a range of tea accessories such as tea timers and infusers.

A definite go-to spot for a refreshing cuppa tea!
