My experience at the ‘Agrodome would have been perfect if we actually got to see the sheep dogs in action, on a large field. Showing a sheep dog guiding 3 sheep into a small pen was not exactly satisfying…

DO NOT RECCOMEND SUPPORTING THIS BUSINESS. This is not a natural farm experience this is a circus show where the animals appear to be drugged and they are manhandled on stage. My friends and I almost walked out the after the first couple minutes.
They clearly do not care about the animals. The show is indoors and completely unnatural. We personally highly regret paying money that supports this animal abuse.
If you care about animals at all and their well being this is not the experience for you. You will be uncomfortable the second you walk in.
.
We will be requesting a full refund for our experience.

If you want to see a horrific display of animal abuse, go to this show. The sheep are tightly chained with no space to move, and look drugged and extremely uncomfortable. I can’t imagine how much time those poor animals spend on a stage. The sheep that came out to be sheered looked scared out of its mind and was manhandled and dragged around the stage. We almost walked out within minutes of arriving, and left before the show ended. Please don’t support this business. There are other sheep activities available that are much more humane and respectful of the animals. Additionally, the presenter on stage made racially insensitive jokes, and gave people nicknames when he couldn’t properly pronounce their names.

What a fantastic place! We loved coming here as a family (it wasn't our first visit and it definitely won't be our last!). The farmer who talked at the farm show was great. Lots to do for a fun day out.

The sheep show was great with lots of information and laughs.
We also did the farm yard ride and saw lots of different animals, we were also allowed to feed them with the feed supplies from the guide.
There was an animal nursery with little lambs, alpaca, ducks, rabbit and Guinea pig.
Over all a great time and money well spent

Great show. Farm show was entertaining and informative and was fun for both kids and adults. Sheep sheering demonstration was amazing. Farm tour was fun as well. Staff were friendly. One tip---please follow staff instructions. There were baby lamb and alpacas recently born before our trip and although our guide repeatedly informed guests not to touch or feed the babies, a tourist group refused to abide by her instructions, leading to her stopping the tour early.

So entertaining and informative! People of all ages will enjoy this demonstration. You can get up close and touch the sheep. Learn about all the different types. Watch the dog herd ducks....you have to see it. And be amazed as a sheep is sheared in minutes. There is even an opportunity to milk a cow.
One of the best things to do in Rotorua New Zealand. We did not tour the farm since we are from Wisconsin. We have seen farms.

Wonderful show. Great farm tour. A++
If you love sheep and other farm animals this is the place for you. We even got to leave with an armful of kiwifruit that we picked off the vines ourselves

We are planning to do both the farm show and tour that starts at 11am. What time expected to end?

Tour is bout an hour too. And there is roughly a 20 mins gap between show and tour. So all up I suggest that you allow 3 hours at Agrodome for photo and souvenirs shopping
请问FARM TOUR 要花多久时间?

After having been to the Agrodome and knowing what you know now, where would you recommend going to see sheep shearing and a farm visit? Thanks. Lori

Definitely the agrodome there are so many amazing experiences to do while there and you can be a part of a working farm. Also in rotorua there is a place called heritage farm they do an amazing farm tour where you can get off the tractor at each animal and feed a variety of animals. There tour includes a buffet lunch afterwards to give you a taste of NZ
do i have to pre order the tickets online?

Hi, I’d like to spend more time on the farm. However, I don’t know how to drive, instead of joining a local tour, can I take any public transport to Agrodome? Thanks.

There is public transport available from the City Centre to Agrodome. There is a link but I am not able to post links on TripAdvisor. But if you check out Baybus routes, Rotorua you can find what you need.
