It was our second visit to Arcos and again the church was closed. Oh well... we returned mostly for the views and the vistas from the church plaza are hard to beat - simply fantastic! Talking about good photo ops... I loved the bell tower...More

One of the two main temples to visit when i;Arcos de la Frontera. Very attractive outside, see it by day and night if you can and inside is vey interesting

Some of the side chapels contain some beautiful altars and interesting art. Many of the carvings are nice. It is worth the two euro fee.

It is a nice church, but we did not feel either of the Arcos churches were exceptional. Both churches are closed in the afternoon so you will need to plan your visit around that.

Unfortunately we were unable to go inside as it was closed for some unspecified reason when we were there. However The Basilica Menor of Santa Maria is the biggest and the main Church of the town It was built between the 13th and 14th centuries...More

Beautiful stone if a little worn makes this landmark at the top of the hill. You can see across the valley from the mirador close to here

There is a very handy mini bus type service that leaves the Arcos bus station on the hour and half hour, and will drop you near your hotel if you are staying anywhere en route to the historic centre, say near the Basilica... More
