I went to velas for turtle festival but could not find any.. That does not mean that there are nk turtles its just we were amongst the 1% chance for non visibility of turtles. The beach is clean full of shells and blackish sand.

Very nice beach without any crowds, although you have to walk 2 to 3 Kms from Road or even more if low tide is there . Very small signage board is there to follow otherwise you will miss it . TURTLE NURSERY is there. But...More

A serene calmness, privacy and cleanliness almost makes you feel as if you own the beach. Away from the crowd, gives you maximum relaxation. Stay at the local homes with the amazing hospitality and delicious food,brings you back again and again. A must visit place.

This place is still beauty of mother nature at it's finest. My forever favorite place... i'll always recommend you all to visit this place at least once in a life. Its like a heaven on earth.

A must visit if you are a nature lover and photographer. Went here in Mar 14 and stayed overnight at a homestay. After the initial disappointment of not spotting any turtles the evening we arrived, we were finally lucky to see one the next morning....More

There are good chances. When we spoke to the forest department officials, they mentioned yet many to hatch. You can try your luck!
