nice place. go only if you are nearby. we travelled a lot for this but were disappointed. we say only one crocodile from afar and no ghariyals at all. may be the boating guy was too worried about his petrol consumption and less concerned about hospitality. but 3 stars only for the place because it was really scenic.

We went for Chambal river safari.. Opted for an hour long boat safari and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ghariyals, crocodiles, turtle and so many beautiful birds.. It was lovely.. The river is untouched by industrial waste and it was overall a superb experience. We also visited the Ghadiyal Abhyaran at dholpur.. I recommend it to all .. especially kids.. They will enjoy..

We booked online for this safari. And took 4 hrs safari, booking full boat. This was an amazing experience. We were staying at Agra and drove down to Chambal river on the MP side in the morning. Road was good. We got to see endangered birds - Indian Skimmers, other threatened birds that we saw were River Terns. Our guide Tomarji also made sure that we saw Gharials, Mugur and Tent Turtles. And the icing on the cake was sighting of Gangetic Dolphins. I would strongly recommend this safari for birders, families both. Do contact Tomarji for a nice trip - 9754267840.
The only drawback of this place is that, it doesn't have washrooms and any eating joints around it.
Also there's rampant illegal sandmining taking place on the MP side.

The Chambal River, one of the longest tributaries of the Yamuna River, cuts through Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. This scenic river winds through lush green landscapes, offering a tranquil escape.

Known for being one of the cleanest rivers in India, it's perfect for boat safaris to spot gharials, birdlife like eagles soaring overhead, and delightful picnics by the water's edge. The rugged cliffs along the river add to the adventure.

People go for bird Safari's , jeep safaris but this altogether a different experience of river boat safari . Once in the river you can do lots birding . There is regular sighting of crocodiles , ghariyals and turtles . If you are lucky enough by you spot river dolphins too . This a photographers paradise . Yes it's very safe too .

This Safari is on the river Chambal which is probably one of the cleanest rivers you can see in India. I was informed that there were no industries along the river which is a major pollutant. Dholpur is the nearest town. An interesting feature is that the river separates the States of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The boats belong to the MP forest department who accompany one on the boat rides. This is the breeding ground for Indian Gharials and there are a good number of crocodiles too. This is also the only place one can see the endangered bird Indian Skimmers in plenty. There is plenty of bird life and others like turtles, eagles etc. which one can enjoy on the boat ride.
