Another lovely stretch

you can get there from the bus terminal at Quarteira passing several cafes and restaurants or round the fishermen’s harbour.

Quiet beach

This is a big and wide beach, and remarkably quiet when I went there...there are beach umbrellas and chairs for rent here if you needthem

Big and empty!!

This beach its giant and doesn't have a lot of people. white sands and clear and worm waters.
Lifeguards and all the rescue equipment are present.

It must be one of the biggest beaches in Algarve. Lots of space and clean and warm water.

Great beach right next to the Marina. It was all very clean. By the beach we can see the boats getting out from the Marina channel.

Vilamoura Beach

`Access to this beach is limited at the moment, because of reconstruction work. After searching, I found the access road leading to the Mareisa cocktail bar, across from the Dom Pedro Portobello hotel. This road also leads to a pedestrian road, leading directly to Quarteira. It is a short, 15 minute walk.

Nice beach but difficult to Access

My wife and I stayed in Vilamoura during November 2019 and there was so much work going on to join up the promenade from Quartiera to Vilamoura that access to the beach between the Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Tivoli Hotel was limited. We returned there again in March 2020 and the work is still ongoing, with access even more limited than previous. To make the situation worse there are no signs to advise of access closures until you get to the actual fence so have to back track and find an alternative route.

Praia de Vilamoura is a great local beach. In the off season it's quiet and yet a great place to enjoy the beach. During the summer season it's active, full of life with all the little sun beds and oodles of people and summer fun.

Life away from the Madding Crowds

Beautiful place with beautiful people & gorgeous scenery. Especially great when the area is free from the madding crowds of the high season periods.

Lovely beach

As with most beaches in the Algarve, beautiful soft golden sand. Safe bathing (though in January we didn't get further than our knees). I saw someone on this site mention a rip tide in the winter. We did not see a warning, and in the summer (when we visited also) there were plenty of people in the sea and all was well. Handy for all amenities and only a 20 minute leisurely walk along the promenade (which links Vilamoura and Quarteria) if you fancy a change of scenery or beach.
