We found this and the castle by total accident while out a drive. Its worth nipping in for a look but don't travel from far out to visit.

This unmissable, well kept church within the Castle grounds is a must see. The 18th century tiled interior is extraordinary as is the beautiful altar. I loved that local men sat upstairs, chatting, while we were there. I suspect they were the caretakers.
A typical beautiful Portuguese church high above Sesimbra that's completely tiled with typical Portuguese tiles. Café nearby is a little bit expensive but good food and plenty the view from the castle is stunning.

We visited this little church as part of our visit to the Castle, and it's a 'must-see' The walls are covered in the famous Portuguese blue tiles, depicting scenes from the Bible. Do not miss it, if you go to the castle.
