We found this and the castle by total accident while out a drive. Its worth nipping in for a look but don't travel from far out to visit. Yes its impressive inside when you first see it but I wouldn't say its the best artistically...More

This unmissable, well kept church within the Castle grounds is a must see. The 18th century tiled interior is extraordinary as is the beautiful altar. I loved that local men sat upstairs, chatting, while we were there. I suspect they were the caretakers.

A typical beautiful Portuguese church high above Sesimbra that's completely tiled with typical Portuguese tiles. Café nearby is a little bit expensive but good food and plenty the view from the castle is stunning. It's really worth a visit!!!

This is a very pretty small church with the interior completely covered in biblical scenes. We visited as part of a tour.

We visited this little church as part of our visit to the Castle, and it's a 'must-see' The walls are covered in the famous Portuguese blue tiles, depicting scenes from the Bible. Do not miss it, if you go to the castle.

Small church but very beautiful with entire bible scenes formed from the famous blue tiles that you can see in all Portugal. Definetely worth a short visit.

You come here for the castle, so you might as well visit its church, although there's nothing special about it

We went to the castle and the church is in the grounds also. It has the most amazing blue and white tiled pictorial scenes from the bible on its walls. It is obvious cherished by the local community and still had wedding flowers arranged in...More

I've never seen a church covered with blue tiles like this one. Is just incredible. Doesn't really matter your religion. This is Portuguese traditional craft art.. A must see.
