Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The inside of the Diana's Temple has limited visitation hours. If I recall correctly, it is only opened from 11 to 14:00 hrs. (The visit is included on combined monuments ticket). The museum inside will provide you with history of the temple and display a few artifacts. In short, nothing special. If you have limited time in Merida, I would skip the visit to the Diana's Temple.

Obviously, on the outside, the temple is superb. Walking around it and admiring it from outside is all that you need. Remember to visit it at night when it is lit up. Accross from the Temple is restaurant Columnata and Heladeria Augustin Mira, both amazing establishments.

We were there after hours (about 6:30pm on Monday, May 16th) so it wasn't open. It took me a while to figure it out but it looks like a mechanical staircase is nestled into the ground to the side, and when the temple is open, the staff must raise/turn the staircase so it can connect with the top floor of the back part of the building, to be able to go inside. Pretty cool! Having not gone inside, I have no way of rating that part.

We were taking monthly milestone pictures of our kids still and since they were born on the 16th, it was the day to take their picture. They were running around so much, enjoying the freedom to stretch their legs, that they hardly slowed down but we managed to snap a couple good ones. We saw people sitting down relaxing nearby or walking on the pathway to cut through but no one else was actually visiting the temple while we were there. So we had the place to ourselves!

There's only so much signage on the outside ground floor and kinda less to see. It's almost just worth admiring from the street to see the full profile of the temple.

I like to give my husband crap every time we talk about the Temple of Diana because when we were almost done hanging out, my daughter (whom he was watching while I watched our son) took a misstep and fell down the steps (I told people that my daughter went 'tumbling down the Temple of Diana'). She was not impressed at all. She rated the temple 0/5 stars.

The temple can be see adequately from the street. Part of the original temple became a renaissance house and the ‘entrance’ included in your combined ticket is really for the house. Most info is in Spanish only. Most exciting is to watch the hydraulic staircase go up or down at opening and closing times

I have a suggestion. If this historic monument is not really a temple to Diana, but rather a temple to Augustus, then let’s call it so? I don’t know exactly how it was done , but I’m always impressed by the details in the decorations/carvings at the top of the columns and the architrave. Based upon readings, I keep wanting to conclude Augustus was much loved by all the Romans. In this case, it was the retired military personnel building this temple in his memory or honor.

Temple in the middle of the city of Mérida, in a better state of conservation than Évora, although some more recent parts can be seen to maintain the structure. Inside there is an exhibition about the temple and the Roman occupation. Since the entrance is paid, it may be worth buying the more expensive ticket that allows you to go to all the monuments.

Built towards the end of the 1st century BC. C. since 1993 it has been declared a World Heritage Site as part of the Archaeological Complex of Mérida. In the 16th century, the interior room of the temple, the Palacio del Conde los Corbos, was built, a building that has partly ensured the survival of the work. The temple has been called Diana since the 17th century, however in 1972 it was discovered that it was not a temple dedicated to the goddess Diana, but to the imperial cult, as archaeologists found sculptures representing members of the imperial family.
We saw there a representation of the sale of slaves, since the Emerita Lúdica festival was celebrated in the city, a recreation of Roman times. The temple of Diana hosted different events of this celebration.

First thing we saw was this Temple of Diana, just near our hotel. It was amazing! We took many photos, and our “conjunto” tickets allowed us to get in (on) this temple.

We also went back the night time to take photos at night. At the left of this temple, we went to eat the restaurant called”Altos del Templo” to eat very generous size hamburger on the second floor, looking at Roman Temple of Diana. Great memorable night!

The so-called Temple of Diana is visible from the street. The state of conservation is impressive.
You don't have to pay to see it, although there is an interpretation center included in the general admission to the city that is interesting and helps you understand it and why it is preserved so completely.
It is advisable to return at night to see it illuminated.

Best buy a Roman Sites all in ticket within which this is included.
Quite a spectacular site as you come down the street and it appears in sight.
With your ticket you can go inside (all Spanish Exhibits but Google Translate gives a gist). You get up to the top outer balcony and look down on the plebs in the street way below. When we visit restoration work was being done so some non photogenic scaffold.

In Évora they have a temple of Diana. But the one in Mérida is much bigger and beautiful. The price for just one place. I don't know. It's €16 for almost all
The city's attractions. Many places, even in the city, are open-air museums. The temple has a small museum that is very well set up. The place is very beautiful and takes us back a little to many years ago. The lady at the door was very friendly. Well, I want to take advantage of this and say that the vast majority of people in Mérida are super friendly.
