This might be a bit unfair but, unless you have lots of time, don't bother (or just look at it from the street). The problem is that Merida has so many amazing sights so this one just loses out.

A vist here is included on the combined ticket. While worth the visit, it is not possible to enjoy it thoroughly without the ability to read Español.

When we visited in 2006 there was signage in English. Today, Spanish only and blank spaces. WHY? Absolutely useless without some sort of written Guide or an audio-guide. Of course none of these either!!!!! And the staff- words fail me, but they should be relocated...More

We dropped in as our last of the roam sites visited in Merida. We parked up by the bull ring and then walked down. The excavations have revealed painted walls and mosaic floors and even that the Romans had habitable basements....

It is a nice walk from the Roman theater and you can check out the bullring across the street while you are there. It is nicely laid out.

This was a pleasant enough visit and was included in our collective ticket. All the explanations were in Spanish only, and the drawings weren't always easy to follow. There was a big piece of land at the end of which was an exhibition of funeral...More

Nothing big or impressive, but nice to see if you are in the area. The information is all in Spanish, so if you don’t speak Spanish, prepare your visit before or have your translator app ready.

Entry to the Casa, one of the most easterly sights in Merida, is 6€, but this includes access to the adjoining Columbarios area, and both are included in the 15€ see-all tickets. We liked the Casa, which has some splendid mosaics and features, but many...More

We were staying in Caseras and drove here particularly for the Roman ruins. The Casa Mitreo was our first stop parking down by the river) and quite interesting. There was little information available, but as we had some background from our journeys elsewhere we could...More

This house is a 15 minute walk from the theatre, but is worth the effort and is included in the combo ticket. The house is extensive with mosaics and the remains of wall paintings and is under cover for some shade. Little information is provided...More
