We visited around 9:40 On Sunday morning so no crowds and real impression of peace was obtained in the mosque and gardens especially. Good views of the city and surrounding countryside.

Pay a entrance fee and you are then free to roam the grounds. you can get up quite high in one of the towers to get a good view of the town.
