Nice stop to make when travelling down south thru Germany. Close to the highway. Stunning castle. It looks like it's from a Disney movie. One can bring and have your picnic in the castle garden.

Schloss Ahrensburg is a must visit when in the village of Ahrensburg. It is a perfectly preserved castle from the 16th century with furnishings from the 17th and 18th centuries. The audio tour is fantastic.

Hotel was across the street, and the location was centrally located. Still beautiful, ideal when you have time to make a leisurely visit.
