We attended the Spectacle on a Sunday afternoon which was exceptionally well done and very entertaining. The Musee is interesting but it was the show that made the difference for us. Definitely worth the visit and very well done.

The Musee du Cheval is by the Stables, from the XVIIIth century, and is a live museum, because there are horses at the stables and dressage shows. Even if in the small size, the collection, the museography and the place is great.

It was interesting to see interaction between Stables with horses being fed at the time of visit, and a quite modern Museum, with drawings/paintings of some very famous artists like Marc Chagal etc..having disputes at their time about the presentations at works of art of...More

The best part of this, otherwise, small museum ...are the horses and ponies there! The shetlands were a huge hit with the children. We attended the shows and loved them. The travels of Marco Polo was one of them: Beautiful costumes as well!

This is an amazing place. I did it as a (comfortable) day trip from Paris. There has been a chateau on this site from 1400; the stables, built around 1600 and originally housing 230 horses, now house about 30 horses and a comprehensive horse museum....More

Really enjoyed the visit. Stables are really impressive and well worth a visit even if you’re not really into horses. The dressage show was interesting, but as everyone says all in French. Enjoyed the painting exhibition. Puts all other stables in the shade.

Admission to this museum is included in admission to the Chateau at Chantilly. There are stables with between 8-12 live horses. You cannot touch or feed them, but they are beautiful. There are also a few extra exhibits that talk about horses. The dressage shows...More

The museum is also the site of a dynamite equestrian show that is like a lovely horse ballet, augmented by acrobats. Even had trained donkeys. Really worth it, and the museum is nice too if you have an interest in horses.
