We visited a couple of weeks ago having visited many times previously. The building is very interesting and is a tranquil ruin now. It was a very hot day, so the ruin provided a little welcome shade. The audio guide was informative, but a little...More

This Elizabethan ruin is fascinating as you see the structure deconstructed to its bare essentials and foundations and so it is caught in a time warp. Many other Elizabethan houses were changed beyond recognition over the centuries so this place is refreshing The history of a...More

Huge building, part of it has no roof on. Several rooms on both floors accesible but it's unfurnished. Enjoyed the audio guide but much of its about the architecture and structure of the building rather than the history of it. Severa peacocks in the grounds,...More

Quite a few rooms to see inside showing how they constructed and decorated in bygone days. Wooden stairs painted like stone is amazing. Nice grounds and very hungry and friendly peacocks. Shop with ice cream but no cafe.
