Small museum during the renovation. But it is worth a visit because of the skeletons of whales and other marine animals. In the underground, an interesting movie, it's a pity that only in Norwegian. He and my 6-year-old daughter loved it. Museum staff very polite!

A must see for all interested in how whaling was done...But, now thankfully more or less banned. Also, a great place to see some stuffed sea-creatures.

I visited here 5 years ago and it was fascinating then, this time they are having renovations done to improve the museum so not everything was open (the price has been reduced to reflect this). Nevertheless, we still found it fascinating...and to see the size...More

Sandefjord museum (Hvalfangstmuseet) is exhibiting the whaling industry and is the only specialized museum of whales and whaling in Europe. However, it's a small museum with very limited information, and it was a bit of a let down.

Quite a interesting museum and worth a visit. Museum gives a good insight how whaling through centuries. There is an exhibition that shows whaling resistance also the price for adult is 70 Nok. Children 50 Nok
