As recently as 2004 this was a no-go place due to mines. Now worth a visit, some of the restoration work seems a little haphazard but nevertheless it is most impressive. Very quiet so unlike Angkor Wat you get a chance to look around more...More

It took us more than 4 hrs (from Muang Chonburi via 314, 359 & 33 then turn left into 348) to get there but proved to be more than worthwhile. The stone relics w/some Khmer letters wedged on the surface thereof was especially of interest...More

A small but historically significant site. Older than Angkor Wat and once the home of a very important stele that is dated back to 1053 AD and details 2 1/2 centuries of the Khmer Empire including accounts of 12 Khmer Kings who ruled during that...More

Beautiful khmer temple from the 10th century. Nicely restored. Easy to get there. Cold drinks sold there. Friendly security :)

...Khmer era prasats in Thailand. I've been to most prasats around the Cambodian border and for me this is up there with Phanom Rung and Preah Viharn although smaller scale than both. It's very nicely restored and a serene setting. There was a decent number...More

Ok its not Angkor wat. But interestingly it is around 300 years older. You can spend a good hour or so here. It is beautiful and peaceful as well as being steaped in history. As a previous person said very few people know about this...More

Cannot add much more to the very well researched review by Ayutthaya-History contributor (see the review). It is surprising to see such an untouched site given the preponderance of commercial activity around Prasat Phimai and Prasat Phanom Rung we observed from our last visit. Sdok...More
