A nice relaxing walk along the canal and into the countryside was just what was needed after doing battle with the M6. The pubs in Bilsborrow have bags of character and serve excellent ale and good honest food.

Very pleasant walk along the canal towpath for as long - or short - as you want. Sad Bilsborrow War Memorial - so many lives lost for such a small place

Stayed at Olde Duncombe House but Guy's 'owd Nell's Pub is a great spot for a bite or a Pint. Good food, good portions good libations too. Great location next to the Lancaster Canal.

Obviously live near by and don't need maps,walked down the canal past Barton grange marina,eventually got too old nells for ice cream and refreshments,also walked back along the road via the Roebuck and white bull,both good places too if sunny 🍻

Stayed at 'Awd Nell's' once again. Rooms are great value and food and the bar is excellent. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Great place to chill ! Enjoyed the canal side walk after my meal .. Peaceful ....

Great walk we followed the instructions on the website - you need the instructions as the path takes you through places you would miss without them . We all had a nice ice cream at the owld nells
