We ventured upon Plessey Woods to see if we could find any conkers in the Country Park. We didn’t have to look far, for there’s a big chestnut tree on the field near the cafe. 🌰

Lovely walks through the woods down to the river. Large field area for dogs to have a run off the lead. Can get busy during the summer months

Beautiful and peaceful. Clean. Great place to see red squirrel if quiet. Lovely for picnics if weather good.

We spent 2 hours (but could have stayed longer) walking round and exploring plessey. 9 year old loved discovering tree carvings etc and dog loved exploring too. Great free family day out with cafe and toilet facilities.

I often visit plessey woods and take my sons dog. There are various walks that are clearly sign posted. Sadly the local council have decided to reinstate parking charges for a stay of over an hour hopefully this doesn’t deter visitors
