This is a very effectice way to have a day out. The ferrys leave from Elizabeth Quay and traverse across to South Perth regularly. Once in South Perth there's lots of shops and cafes scattered along this stretch.

We wanted a good walk and found it at the South Perth Foreshore. We parked our car and went on the trail, that was right next to the river.
We saw a colorful dolphin statue with different colors.
We even saw a beach.
