Best dog walks in Somerset. Safe. Great variety of walks. Fantastic views. And everyone you meet is friendly.

This is a beautiful park but it could really do with better signage. Took photo of the map at rangers but it turned out to be useless as it doesnt have all the paths on it and only vaguely shows where things are. We did find the lime kiln but not the iron age part. The northern part is easier to navigate and stone circle and memorial where easy to find.

We were pointed here while staying in the area with our dog. "It's a great place to walk your dog" they said. What they didn't say was just how large an area it covers. After meeting yet another friendly couple of locals who didn't mind our dog requisitioning their dog's ball and the subsequent running about I think we broke our dog. After the climb up and down to the monument this exertion was too much and upon arrival at the Prince of Wales pub he collapsed to the floor and looked to all appearances to be a well behaved dog, barely lifting his head to acknoweldge a fellow canine. The next day he looked as good as new but sadly my legs refused to work.

Beautiful place to walk the dog, shame about the cows and toilets are disgusting, can get very busy in the warmer days but scenery is fantastic
