My wife and I visited Sortelha today, and absolutely loved it. After being surrounded with hordes of tourists at almost every other attraction we've hit in the past seven weeks, we were stunned to be able to roam this town, and feel almost alone. Not...More

One of the nicest walled in villages I’ve been too. A very must. Try and walk on the exterior wall top even though it’s quite dangerous and not recommended to the light hearted.

This is an enchanting town that is so well preserved! Also the walls and the towers are worth the walk and the climb. There a few shops and very few tourists!
