First time in kayak, took a friend and we just chilled out round the bay, took it easy, sunbathed, watched the bay from a new perspective and had a great Saturday morning. The staff was helpful, advised about the weather, best time to go, safe areas to keep to, helped us get in and out of the water... When you're... More

If you're looking for a challenging activity, take the whole family where you'll learn all about rock climbing - mental and physical challenges galore! Parents are doing the anchoring from the ground while the kids are tackling the wall! Very good training provided and staff very attentive at all times to watch everyone is staying safe. Highly recommended for primary... More

Took my nephew indoor rock climbing, cost including free safety lesson and practice was $17 for him. We had about an hour which was when he got tired, you start with a safety lesson on how to use the equipment but each rope and belay is also attached to the floor. Good for kids all ages and they supply any... More

Good for kids 4 and up. Too much for the little ones. The older ones couldn't get enough though and all fell asleep in the car in the way home. The stuff are super friendly and helpful. Not cheap, but a great activity.

I happened to spot this climbing wall as I was walking along the quay after visiting Wellington Museum during our Christmas vacation. I told my kids and being spider monkeys they were very keen to climb. I have only taken my children (aged 13 and 11) to children specific walls prior to this, so it was really exciting for us... On a hot day nothing better than a paddleboard or kayak, and if it's a rainy or windy day why not a rock climbing? I've done it all and it's pretty good, for kayaks and paddle, they give u the freedom to go up to Oriental Bay... and for Rock Climbing you just need a partner to have some fun.... More

I come to Fergs only for climbing. I'm a beginner and I've always enjoyed the climbs here. They used to use Grigri(s) and they have replaced them with self-braking ones, which made belaying easier and descending a smooth one. The location is strategic and very easy to find. It gets very busy during the week, though. Last time I was... More

Joined the guys on the Marlborough Sounds Kayak trip over Labour weekend. Their gear was all great and the guides knowledgeable and helpful. Have joined in a few paddles around the harbour too. High recommended.

The Fiance and I live on a flat rock in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico so we like to check out the local climbing gyms when we travel. Fergs did not disappoint! The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was cool that they were from several different countries. The two of us have different belay techniques... More

My kids ages 9 and 7 loved this. We went on a Sunday morning when it was the kids special between 10 and 12 and it is $10. My daughter had climbed before and loved the walls here, it was my sons first time and he was impressed. You had a safety lesson to start with and we found the... More
