let's face it, if you're in eastern crete you need to go here - you've read the guides which tell you the same, so why are you still reading. p.s. make sure you get there before about 11/11:30

Having heard so much about this beach I was really disappointed when I finally arrived... it looked a bit tatty ... and there are other beaches on Crete that are much better than Vai.

We have read reviews in which people say that this beach was very crowded. Well, when we visited (middle of May), it wasn't. It was windy, which I like a lot, so I inquired whether that was the case in July and August as well,...More

Wonderful place to be, especially with children. Sandy and clean beach, nice restaurant nearby. The sea is very shallow and the water is velar.

We went off- season. Pretty nice. Ar the end of the beach some nudists. It’s all part of nature. Clean beach, sand and little stones. Good restaurant at the beach. Not cheap though...

So many palm trees and the place is still in Europe! The holiday atmosphere, nice sandy beach and friendly infrastructure make the visit most enjoyable and pleasant!

We love going here to the restaurant. The Beach and surrounding area is lovely. We mainly visit the beach out of season when staying at our house in Maronia.

A nice beach at the front of Europe's only date palm forest. The beach is nice with quite coarse sand. For small kids the beach gets deep quite fast. It quickly drops off to a depth of around 1m and after that it varies with...More

After visiting some beaches in the area of Sissi we decided to visit Vai beach. After a drive of over 2 hours the view alone would have been sufficient! It is a very nice sandy beach with palm trees. The beach lays in a bay...More
