Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely time at Peka Peka beach. Despite it being a really sunny, warm day - it wasn't too crowded. There isn't a lot of shade there but there are plenty of places to sit and relax. The water was warm (for New Zealand) and the waves were not too high for us swimmers. It is a shame that they are still allowing vehicles on the beach here though - some people are not very thoughtful when they drive along.

We just walked along the beach and didn't swim while it was rather cold. The wind was strong that made us staying at the beach for a short time only. Anyway, it was nice to be there to hear the wave and see the view of the ocean.

Great fir walking dogs when it’s not too busy.

Popularity for those driving their vehicles on the beach does detract.

Waves ok for surfing, fishing ok, but better options for these activities close by

I love this beach -something different happening every time you come.Sunsets are spectacular and in summer you can drive on the sand and have your own private corner to enjoy.

Lots happening with a view of Kāpati Island. People can drive their cars along the beach too. There are people walking dogs and people in swimming. It was a warm day and looked safe for swimming and worth a detour from SH1 on a long hot summer journey.

Nice beach a short drive north of Waikanae. There is parking available just by the entrance to the beach and you can also drive onto the beach. It is a nice beach to have a walk on. When we visited there was a lot of drift wood on the beach, which would making driving on the beach a bit tricky. State highway 1 heading north is not too far away from the beach (less than 5 minute drive)

We spent the day going up the coast stopping along the way and this was our favourite beach and walk. Just gorgeous and no one else around and it was a Saturday.

We enjoyed a lovely morning walk along this deserted beach. It has a lot of interesting driftwood we spent a bit of time examining.

Wow hidden gem big wide sandy beach with dunes behind. Perfect beach for a romantic walk. Easy to park by and generally a nice clean beach.

Yeah, these under populated beaches on North Island, New Zealands, west coast are pretty sandy, gently slopping shorelines... Low tide the beach is wide and beauty sunsets.
