Beautiful beach, beach with very fine white sand. Enjoying the sunset here is really good, especially when the buffalo goes back to the cage and the fishermen start to go to sea, it is truly fascinating. We can also learn to surf here.
Great beach where there is a procession of buffaloes at sunrise and sunset. All the beach vendors and lovely and chilled. Great place to take my son on his first surf lesson. Reminds me of the surf beaches I grew up on - chilled, friendly...More
We were enjoying the beautiful sights of sandy beach when buffaloes along with their shepherd appeared and starting to walk across the beach to their grazing field in the other side of the beach ......
Beautiful and clean beach. Waves are not rough that we can swim anytime, and good for morning or evening run too. Great place to learn surfing. Great location to watch sunset. And the Water Buffalos March in the morning and returning before sunset is beautiful...More
Beautiful beach with soft, white sand. Bright blue turquoise water. The ocean is fairy gentle and good for swimming. Even better for some easy surfing. A little trash but not worse than other parts of Bali. Wasn’t solicited once or see any scams take place....More
Lombok’s absolutely most gorgeous beach. The place I would retire without thinking twice. It is a large very quiet sugary white-gray sandy beach, about 1500 meters in length with a small fishermen camp on one edge, a few coffee shops and surf school, and then...More

Hi there, I was there in 2016 & all I did was just turn up & just talk to some of the warungs owner which most will offer you surf lessons & also beach chairs. Just remember to ask a few so you could compare the price.

Hello Gulum, no need to book surfing lessons at Selong Belanak. Plenty of 'warungs' offer lessons; much competition among them that's why one shouldn't pay the USD 45 mentioned by another traveller. Bargain to around USD 30. They're all next to each other. One enters the water directly in front of them for surfing lessons. Waves generally are very small at Selong and break close inshore. Beach slopes gently, no sudden deep spots and no rocks, powder fine sand. A beautiful, unspoilt bay that forms a dramatic curve with trees and plants growing right up to it, and the verdant Jabon hills behind it. No snorkelling to speak of; just a great swimming beach. 17km from Kuta but takes 25mins due to windy road. Best to rent scooter in Kuta or take a taxi. People just leave their scooters in the 'car park' behind Selong's beach. Best wishes, Gustav
