On a short trip to Dublin I journeyed out to Newbridge (really straight forward by public transport: train from Connolly to Donabate -2 stops on a Drogheda service- 25 minutes) to see what (in my opinion) is a fairly unique survivor in Ireland - an historic house with its contents still largely in situ surrounded by its demesne (parkland). The tour round the interior (led by Emma & assisted by Emily) was highly informative and they gave an interesting account of the development of property and the lives lived by the family and support staff over the centuries. For anyone interested in Irish social history with a fondness for period interiors Newbridge is a "must see" and its a credit to Fingal County Council, their curatorial staff and the Cobbe family. The grounds were great; as I was leaving families were arriving to see the farm and walled gardens before having lunch/coffee break in the nicely situated cafe by the house.

We got the tour of Newbridge house today and it was fabulous! Tuan had an absolute mountain of knowledge regarding the history of it, there was nothing we asked he didn't know the answer to! For only 3.50 extra with the farm entrance, it's well worth it! Very interesting, takes about 45 mins in total, would definitely recommend this tour with Tuan to anyone!

Been to Newbridge House many times and walked around the estate. But it is the first time (since COVID) where I was able to go around the farm properly. It was a great experience.

We asked Emma who was doing a birthday party if it was possible for our kids to hold an animal. She was doing the party so she wasn't able to do it at that time. She asked us to come to the reception at 3:15 and right on time she was there and let my kids hold a rabbit, a baby goat and gave us a small little tour ourselves.

Outstanding customer service by Emma, she didn't have to do any of that but she went above and beyond.

Thank you!

Today’s was without doubt a masterclass on how not to run a cafe.

When we arrived the tables were filthy, piled with used crockery and unfinished lunches. Most of the staff were gathered in the small room off the cafe chatting and customers left to their own devices to move aside dirty crockery and food to make space on the table.

The staff are all young, clearly untrained and obviously completely unsupervised. They are rude and disinterested and the few I encountered should not be customer facing.

The customer in front of me was presented with the wrong coffee. When he pointed that out he was met with an aggressive stare, the server then just walked away without a word, left the coffee on the side and threw the straw on the counter. She left the customer standing. She proceeded to chat to another staff member at the back and then took out her phone to take a call. After several minutes she returned and rudely said she would remake the iced coffee he had ordered.

Then it was my turn for this one star customer service. I won’t bore you with detail except to say I fared worse than the earlier customer. This is clearly a member of staff who hates her job and should not be in a customer facing role.

It is interesting to note reviews going back years where customers raised these issues, yet stoney silence or action from Brambles, it’s speaks volumes about this organisation and the value they place on their customers and their staff!!

The coffee was very good and the shortbread and chocolate biscuit cake excellent.

Would these treats tempt me back??…..erm……I gave this some thought as I sat there looking at the dirty crockery and unfinished food from previous customers…….the answer……... a resounding……NO!!

Travelled a long way to visit the farm with family only to find it was closed, there was no notification of this on the website or FB page, I checked before and after and saw no information regarding such an important fact. A festival was being set up and large machinery was moving everywhere, even where we were walking with a small child trying to navigate our way through. It wasn’t safe and a notice should have been placed at the entrance. Only access was to a very limited and and expensive cafe where we had a cold drink and mulled over our disappointment and on how to salvage the day. No apology or explanation from staff.

We booked tickets for the farm visit. It is worthwhile booking to go early as you will be able to spend longer there without concerns over social distancing. Tickets are valid for 30 mins but we got in early and spent nearly 3 hours here.
The animals are so friendly
Its a great place for a picnic as plenty of benches available. A great place i would recommend

We visited Newbridge House this week. It was a great experience. We were two adults and a nine year old. We did a tour of the house with a guide called Tuan. He was interesting, very knowledgeable and engaging. Our nine year old was enthralled. The cafe had tasty food and the farm was a great place to let off steam after the house and cafe visit. Will definitely go again.

Would not racommend farm visit. Went today Sunday 18th. Booked tickets for 2.30. When we arrived to newbridge it was chaos, cars abandoned everywhere, people everywhere, the playground was rammed with adults and children. No social distancing whatsoever.
We went to get our tickets for the farm, which resulted in us queuing in a huge line where people did not understand the need for social distancing. When we entered the farm there was about 50 other people entering at the same time and still more to come after us. Whenever we went to see an animal we were crowded around by others, if we moved on to get some space we were constantly followed and crowded. This was happening the whole way. The courtyard with animals had no directions and was a free for all with very little space. There was no employees to manage crowds. We felt really unsafe and ended up rushing through the farm to get out. All of the hand sanitizing stands were empty with no sanitizer and the soap units by the sinks had no soap. Would not return and would not recommend.

Very well ran, place was immaculate
BUT, Its daylight robbery. 30 euro to park your car. Queded for 45mins, Got 2 bags of chips, 2 pulled pork burgers and 2 drinks. Was charged 36 euro for the lot. That's not right at all. Ireland has become a scandle with people fleecing everyone. Organisers need to clamp down on this sort of robbery. 15 quid for that load of greesy crap would have been more than enough.

Flavours of Fingal’s back after Covid! 2022 a great success with free buss service for local pick up points over the three days . It took three days to see everything from dog shows , crafts , farm animals , circus acts , all sorts of dancing and music lots to buy and so many different things to eat and drink all on offer across Fingal! A great week end of family fun and sun . The farm open for all to see and the walled garden jumping with bean bags and music!
