Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Walked around this park whilst trying to find the Twlight Food Fair, which is advertised at the park entrance and is in the adjoining in Ted Mack Park. It's a large green area with a bowls club and cricket oval and is a lovely oasis in the busy city. We had a great time listing to a jazz band and getting a meal from one of the stalls.

St Leonard’s Park is a large, grassy reserve in central North Sydney. It’s more a dog-walkers’ park than a children’s park although there is open area for small children to run around and kick a ball and a playground.
Most people will know St Leonards Park because of the North Sydney Sports Oval. The park also draws a crowd at regular annual events like the Twilight Food Fair, the ‘Sunset Cinema’, an open air cinema held during summer, and the ‘Sunset Series’ of free afternoon concerts,
It’s a very old established park, having been reserved by the mayor, William Tunks in 1867.
There’s a lovely, old-world feel about the park.
Giant Moreton Bay and Port Jackson figs with their spreading boughs and their distinctive buttress roots create a shady avenue in one section.
Several historical features include the monumental Art Deco style cenotaph in the centre and a WWI German Field Gun mounted in a corner of the park.
An ornate Victorian-style marble fountain commemorates William Tunks. Made of Sicilian Carrara marble, it would not be out of place in an Italian garden.
The park is compromised by being so close to the busy Warringah Freeway (and its ongoing roadworks) but it sits above the freeway so you don’t get a lot of noise. There is rarely much street parking here. It’s almost entirely metred and its a busy area so you have to be lucky to nab a spot anyway. Its worth noting that the North Sydney parking inspectors are pretty vigilant.

Dog friendly and well used park with sports facilities close by. Big, old trees provide great shady areas for lunch time picnics.

Big suburban park combining things like well kept lawns with impressive old trees, a bandstand for festivals, a couple of ovals and an historic sewer vent. It would be glorious if it weren't for the main roads surrounding it on 3 sides.

This park covers quite an area and serves as a well used public place for people to meet, exercise and children to run.

A decent sized public park, situated right near the freeway! Schools use this park for their sports afternoons, plus has a rugby field and oval for other events. Heritage listed.

Located at the edge of North Sydney, this park is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of North Sydney. It's a 15 minute walk from the centre of North Sydney and there are also plenty of buses that stop here. There are a couple of ovals for sporting activities, a bowling club, bathroom facilities and paved paths that take you through the park. There are often events held here like the North Sydney Parkrun every Saturday morning at 8am and the sunset cinema at certain times of year. Cyclists coming from the city often cycle through here as it connects up to bike paths going further north.
