My wife and I came here a week before our wedding to make our rings in the 'ring-in-a-day' workshop. The prior communication and exchange of ideas, designs and advice was great. We spent 6 hours on the day making our rings which ended up being silver with Australian native flora designs. We are extremely happy to have made unique, personal wedding jewellery. Bridget also was kind enough help with a slight resize of my ring the day after my wedding! 100% recommend to anyone looking for something special. Thanks Bridget!

I visited Bridget's Project Space after commissioning her online to make an engagement ring for my boyfriend (now fiancé), and also one for myself. Before the visit I told Bridget that I would be bringing my boyfriend along; she was extremely friendly and helpful during our visit, and was amazing at showing us different styles and options without giving away to my boyfriend that she was making our rings. I even managed a sneaky handover of some old gold jewellery to her to make the rings.

Living in Copenhagen, Denmark, the rest of the process was handled over email. Bridget kept me updated on her design process, allowing me to be part of key design decisions. She then sent photos of the progress as they were made. Due to Covid-19 I was unfortunately unable to visit the Project Space again and collect the rings. Bridget was very helpful in arranging safe delivery of the rings to me in Denmark.

The end result was two absolutely beautiful rings which we are both incredibly happy to wear on our fingers!

You're always greeted in a warm friendly manner when visiting Studio 2017, and the range of artisan's contemporary jewellery available to purchase is fantastic. There's a great selection of both elegant and fun pieces available, I never tire of visiting this studio, and have never walked away disappointed when I've been trying to find something special and unique for a gift.

Studio 2017 also has a great exhibition space that is a wonderful platform for both established and up and coming fresh talent showing contemporary jewellery, and if you're lucky enough to attend an opening, the studio regularly arranges artist talks with each new exhibition, which is a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with them.

There's also many great eateries nearby to relax in as well. Definitely a studio worth the effort of making a trip to visit!

Studio 2017 is hidden at the back of the Dank St centre but worth finding. They have a fantastic range of jewellery which is really reasonably price and I like that it is made by local designers. I buy a lot of gifts here as there's always new jewellery coming in. The staff are really helpful and it's probably my favourite gallery in Sydney. There's also lots of places to eat near by and other galleries to look at.

While checking out Dank St, I found this wonderful gallery "Studio 20/17" and loved it ! It has an exhibition space that is continually changing with exhibitions from Australian and international contemporary jewellers.
Then there is the retail space which I love there is such a variety of work silver, gold, plastic's, wood every median you could think of. I found at least 10 things I wanted for myself and also a few birthday presents for friends. There was a good range if prices so that was good for my wallet :)
The girls there were so helpful, knew everything about the work and as working jewellers themselves in the studio, they were making some beautiful pieces which I was really interested in watch and was able to chat to them about their work.
A really lovely place to visit as there is always something new to see, some yummy cafe's there too. So a lovely day out !

I visited this lovely little gallery/store on my last trip to Sydney. I was looking for a special gift for a friend and while this place is a bit difficult to find (it's hidden down the end of a corridor in an art gallery complex), once you get there it's like a treasure chest of beautiful and interesting contemporary jewels, mainly made by Australian artists although they do have work by some overseas artists as well (we were looking for something Australian made but a bit classier than the usual holiday trinkets). We caught the m20 bus from the back of QVB which was really convenient, took about 20 minutes and dropped us off just around the corner. The service was great, and it's worth asking if they have any other options, as not all the work is on display. It was a nice trip out there as the shop is in a complex of about 8 art galleries and there are lots of cafes and other interesting interior design and home decorating shops in the area.

Fabulous jewellery etc, really different yet classy and a wide price range so always something for everyone. I have been a couple of times now and always come away feeling good from the experience even if I haven't bought anything although that is hard to do!

I have been shopping at Studio20/17 ever since I accidentally wandered in there on one of my trips to Dank Street and its creative little art hub. The gallery like a true little jewel is hidden at the back of the large art complex on the corner of the street. As soon as you enter the studio you are mesmerised by the many and varied exhibits of unique works by some of Australia's most innovative jewellers.

As a grandmother I have quite a range of ages for which to buy gifts. At Studio 20/17 I have never had a problem finding not just a gift but a gift that was unusual and appropriate, be it for a friend my own age or a niece or nephew. The range is vast and joyfully imaginative.

This year I took my brother from England to Studio 20/17 so he could buy gifts for his wife and son. I also took a Dutch art collector friend to visit the gallery because he was looking for unique gifts from Australia. My daughters' friends have also become collectors of the Studio. All in all, I cannot speak too highly of Studio 20/17 and its friendly and helpful staff.

I am sure that there is an unusual and beautiful gift there for everyone, at a price that is affordable.

Thank you Studio 20/17 for creating such an exciting and delightful place.

For me, Studio 20/17 was a Godsend.
Looking for an engagement ring had made me deflated; more or less every ring I had seen seemed tacky or over priced or SOMETHING. I knew in any case, my girlfriend wouldn't really have liked any of them.
So it was amazing to find 20/17, and immediately get help from Mel and Bridget (who run the studio) in fashioning a ring from scratch that would both suit what I hoped desperately my gf would like. They went out of their way from the start, doing all they could to alleviate my worries and made suggestions over what kind of style I could go for, based around my vague notion of what the finished ring should be like.
I can't state enough how brilliant they both were in quickly making what was initially just a loose collection of ideas a reality. In the end it was such a perfectly encapsulated reality too - the finished ring is absolutely beautiful.
We'll head back to 2017 to get the wedding rings. In the meantime I'd recommend the studio to anybody with even a passing interest in stunning, stylish, ethically made jewellery.

If you love art and contemporary jewellery designs, it's worth a visit. I was looking for Christmas gifts for my staff and a colleague told me that i should have a look at Studio 20/17.

While we were there one of the designers were there actually making some works. We were able to buy some beautiful and very unique gifts for our staff and the folks. The only annoying thing was that the complex isn’t open on Sundays or Mondays, so we had to plan around that.
