Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Spa is adjacent to a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the sea. Naffy was an amazing masseuse, strong as I wanted, but very kind and caring. She is a wonderful person. Mu wife had a massage afterwards and we both felt that Naffy is THE BEST!

My husband and I have spent a wonderful week at the Calabash hotel. One of the highlights has been the massage I received at the Spa from Naficia. She is a very talented practitioner - and reads the body well and talks to her customers about what they want to get out of the experience- which is great! I had a deep tissue massage and she was just right on getting into my troubled areas and I felt great after - although as expected a bit tender in places she helped me release. I would definitely recommend her and the spa for anyone visiting both the hotel - but also the area.

Some of the other reviews mentioned things about accessibility - so I just wanted to also reassure anyone who needed a ramp - that there is one to the pool area where the treatment rooms are located. Some of the rooms do have windows and I loved that for the massage it was a private and comfortable place that had a serene feel to it.

Had my nails done at the spa and had a wonderful time. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel like I was chatting with a friend while getting my nails done. A very relaxing spa.

The original spa overlooked the beach and was within the sound of the waves lapping at the shore. The new spa is a little further away from the beach but still within the Calabash Hotel's wonderful tropical gardens. Oddly there is no internal connection between the ground floor reception office and the treatment rooms on the first floor - nor did I spot any obvious 'accessible' route for guests with limited mobility.

Having damaged an ankle while walking in town, I booked a foot and lower leg massage. Surprisingly the treatment room was windowless, denying the possibility of enjoying the relaxing views of the tropical gardens. However, the scented atmosphere and the soft musak quickly relaxed me. The treatment was first rate; a deep massage eased away the aches and set me on the road to recovery. I look forward to our next visit.

Overlooking the beach in Prickly Bay, the Calabash Hotel's Spa has a perfect location. I went for a neck & shoulders session after the long transatlantic flight - it was perfect.

The setting is idyllic, the service is unobtrusive, and very relaxing. The staff are all fully qualified and expert. A great experience.

I had a deep issue massage and my wife had a pedicure and head/neck massage. All were expertly and charmingly administered by Naficia. The location was breathtaking and luxuriously appointed.

This was my second time at the Calabash Spa. The first time was for a massage, which was wonderful, and the second visit was for a pedicure with a friend. Having been to several other places on the island for pedicures I choose Calabash for its view, relaxing environment, and the chance to grab a bite to eat after the pedicure. I left less than pleased with the pedicure that I received. The order of the pedicure was out of sorts. The employee doing the pedicure started off with exfoliation, which was rather painful, as she had not soaked my feet prior to the exfoliation. The employee questioned whether I wanted my toenails cut, instead of filing and shaping them, as is customary. The worst part was the polish itself. The employee continually had to remove the nail polish to "fix" her mistakes, and in the end left me with a polish job that was smudged and looked like a child had done it. When I stated that I wanted the smudged toe to be redone, she ignored me, and instead demanded payment. My feet were still calloused, and the pedicure was chipped within 24 hours of normal wear. My friend had the same experience with the employee and her pedicure turned out in the same manner. It's a shame that there is an employee working there that is so clearly untrained. The pedicures were incredibly expensive and not at all worth the price for the job that was done.

I will gladly return to Calabash for its dining experiences, as they have been lovely. However, I will be bringing my business to other spas in Grenada.

I had high expectations of the Calabash Luxury Hotel and Spa. The name luxury and spa were in the title. The location was on the beach and serene. It is advertised as an upscale place but the customer service was the caliber of Motel 6. It was simply not first class nor did they keep their word. Save your money, my experience was DISAPPOINTING and still leaves a bad taste in my mouth about Grenada.

I booked a Facial Practice from the website 2/24/2016 for 2 Facial Practice with a certain price.

A personal email was sent by the spa at 12:28pm on 12/24/2016 after the booking stating that they “updated you booking to reflect the correct treatment. “ There is no reference to a new price. We contracted this service based on the agreed upon price from my booking and the service.

“On arrival an assessment will be done to determine the best facial for you” but this statement does not address the price change.
No where in the documentation was there a statement indicating a change in the originally agreed upon price of the facial booked online.

A second confirmation email at 3:18pm on 12/24/2016 was sent (below) STILL stating the Facials Practice (with the original price) and no indication of a change in price.

Upon arrival, we were given an assessment of a different facial WITH NO MENTION OF THE CHANGE IN THE AGREED UPON PRICE associated with a different facial.

After the facial, a new price for the facial which was even higher than the spa brochure stated per facial was given to us and under duress we had to pay an amount or else we could not leave and because we were in Grenada we did not involve the police because we could not leave without payment.

We were told that the Facial Practice on the website was a mistake and the website was taken down but when we booked it but they would not honor their original price.

Not only did the spa pull the bait and switch scam typical of a Nigerian phone call but the facial was average at best and the brochure had a lower different price than the website and what they wanted to charge me ultimately. The lower price of $140 per facial as they are trying to squeeze more money out of the guests.

Take a free walk along the beach and save your money, no one needs to be treated like this.
