Yet another very picturesque cycle ride which we started from Ryedale car park through the six tunnels to Coombes Road, we then decided to head into Bakewell itself for lunch before the return journey. A busy trail used by walkers , cyclists and horse riders

Visited yesterday and hired cycles from the bike next to Hassaps. Cost £16 each for 3 hours and needed to leave ID with them instead of a deposit. We left a driving licence. From this point , near Bakewell, although not quite at the end...More

Having cycled a lot of cycleways, this was by far the best. Breathtaking views of the valley below, excellent surface for road bikes, the tunnels were lit - important as some went around a curve. Slight incline up took 2 hours - 1.5 hours back....More

Took our bikes rode from Bakewell to the end of the line and back. Easy ride as it’s an old railway line. Lots of tunnels and viaducts with gorgeous scenery. Stopped for a drink and nibbles at an station.

Easy walking and a very pleasant amble. Worth doing the (uphill) diversion to view the viaduct from higher up as it crosses the valley . Would definitely recommend.

We drove up here during our first visit to the Peak District. At the time it was fairly cold and windy, so we didn't walk but admired the scenery from various observation "spots". Really stunning. We did this over Easter weekend when it was already...More
