Lovely cycle path. Slight hill from Hassop station direction but nothing challenging. Hired bikes today from Hassop station Monsal cycle shop but service wasn’t great and bikes seemed poorly looked after so would use alternative hires in future, friendly stop at Blackwell mill for ice...More

This immaculate ride is perfect for bicycles, strollers and hikers. There's a slight incline from Bakewell to Blackwell Mill, but only slightly noticeable on bike. There's a series of tunnels which are well lit and there are some super views of the dales.

Not a particulary scenic part of the trail but ideal for a family walk with a buggy. Nice cafe at Hassop before return to Bakewell. Pay and display cp at Bakewell Station but if you buy 4 hours you will have time for a walk...More

Millers Dale Station car park is a great place to start off from. The station was surprisingly the largest station on the Midland Line in its heyday. Two outstanding viaducts span Millers Dale as testament to the skill of British Engineers & construction workers. A...More

The area where the tunnels have been reopened is a particularly scenic area - it is well surfaced and should be easy even in wet weather. Lots of cycles going up and down the trail though plenty of room for everyone. The maps of the...More

Fantastic re-use of the incredible engineering feat of the old railway line, Now a beautifully surfaced track going through some of Derbyshires' most stunning scenery. The skill that went into the original tunnels and viaduct is remarkable,Only slight problem is it can be spoilt on busy...More

Great ride with my partner and her parents. Took it at an easy pace and lots of stops for photos. Took about 2.5-3 hours in total. Hired our bikes with the option of 2 or 4 hours. Book 4 so you can take you time!

Did this ride with my daughter, renting bikes at the start of the trail (best to book in advance). Really enjoyable day out, points of interest have plaques with some information, great scenery, and Bakewell is well worth a visit.

There is bike hire also at the end of the Trail. Give either of them a ring. I think it’s £15.00 a day for hire
