Bradford-on-Avon Wharf was once the busiest wharf on the Kennet & Avon Canal. Today, it’s a great place to spot historic canal features.

Spent the previous evening moored up on the canal in order to explore Bradford on Avon and set off in the morning to pass through the lock towards Bath. It was very busy and there was a 4 boat queue in front of us so...More

We traveled to Tithe Barn via the Avoncliffe aquaduct - beautiful section of canal. Visiting Bradford on Avon, which is altogether a disappointing town. The lock area itself was manned by the canal trust volunteers and they couldn't be more helpful. Showed us how to...More

What a beautiful place this is. So peaceful to just sit and watch the boats passing by on the canal. There are a couple of good pubs here as well. We have just come home from a midweek narrow boat holiday. We chose Black Prince...More

What a difference the sunshine makes to our beautiful country. This place is so picture perfect and it’s so easy to let the hours pass by watching the barges going up and down in the locks.England at its finest.

This is a lovely spot to stop at when on a narrow boat holiday. There are several cafes and taverns to choose from for refreshments. It also has water top up points for the boat. There are usually helpers to get you through the locks.

I was challenged to move the bar for the lock and it was not so hard as I thought. A good laugh and a nice introduction to beautiful Bradford upon Avon.

Stopped to top up water on boat and pause for Lock. Easy for us in 70ft of boat!! but this lock is one of the busiest in England in the summer and gets very crowded. Patience is essential! But, on the canal, who's hurrying?
