Located down from the Montage with public access on the south end near Merrimans, the beach curves around the bay with nice view of the other islands near by. Space is limited as can get crowded as the depth isn’t much only allowing 2 maybe...More

Short walk or Gulf Cart ride down the hill to a fabulous beach adjacent to the D.T. Fleming Beach. The Ritz has a quaint snack bar with table service and awesome views of the pacific ocean.

Snorkeling at Kapalua Bay is fantastic. The number of fish is second to none. We counted at least 39 species along with lots of beautiful coral. Sandy walk-in entry is easiest at north end of beach, reef beginning close to shore. This area is suitable...More

We have been visiting Kapalua Beach on Maui for over three decades and have witnessed the evolution of the site from quiet, undeveloped hidden hideaway to the hotel encircled, crowded white sand crescent it is in 2018. Yet this remains a favorite place to relax,...More

Our family visited Maui in mid August 2018. We went to Kapalua beach for snorkeling. The beach is beautiful! My husband and two girls (teenagers) went snorkeling. They only swam about 20 meters into the ocean and saw a lot of colourful tropical fishes. A...More

A little tough to reach, this beach has beautiful sand and gentle waves. There are coral reefs not too far off the sand, so be mindful... it can be sharp. Ok for kids, but need to keep eyes on as the water gets deep (for...More

We didn't see a lot when we snorkeled here but it was a little late in the day. There is plenty of parking. The beach is beautiful, nice place to relax.

The parking is somewhat limited if you go later in the day..we parked on the street. The walk in was fine, but be careful and pay attention when going down the steps. There is a lot of sand on them, which can be slippery even...More

When Ritz Carlton demolished the elegant Kapalua Bay Hotel and replaced it with timeshares, they hosed their equipment off into the storm sewer that feeds into the bay. We could see the dirty water pouring into the bay from the pipe. This covered the reef...More

It's public. I highly recommend getting there early in the morning, as parking (as well as the beach) fills up. Parking is limited.

Yes, there was a small hut on one end of the beach where you could rent snorkel gear. I don't know about prices, didn't pay attention, as we had bought snorkel masks on Amazon and brought them with us.
