Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love the tracks around Maidstone. Such beautiful bush. Go regularly to enjoy the peace. Something for everyone at this park with a playground, tennis courts, miniature rail, mountain biking, pum track and skateboard bowl.

The park was refurbished in 2021. It has an excellent skate park and pump track. The skate park has drop-ins, half pipes and a large bowl. It's extremely popular for scooters, skateboards, rollerblades and skates. The playground is large and caters for all ages. There is a double flying fox and a basketball half court. The grass park next door is dog-friendly. There are picnic tables in the shade near the carpark. There are water fountains, toilets and recycling/rubbish bins. We love this park. Highly recommended for family outings.

The playground is getting tired and worn. Lot's of teens using skate park, can be a bit loud. needs to have some money spent on it, to brighten it up

Maidstone Park is a well designed play and park area catering for all age groups! The park has a skate park, flying fox, park for younger and older children and astro turf for hockey, soccer, tennis, well kept grounds for those that just want to stroll, access to bush walks that cater for all levels. A beautiful atmosphere and environment!

Weather was a bit miserable in central Welly so we (me and 6 year old son) hopped on a train to Upper Hutt where it wasn't so bad.
Spent abut 45 minutes here on the playground - mostly on the excellent flying fox and had a bit of an explore also. Overall, a really good spot. Will make sure we stop here again.

I love Maidstone Park for its walking tracks. You can go for a short 5 minute loop track in beautiful bush or meander several tracks for up to 1-2 hours of walking in different bush settlings. Tracks that go to the carpark at the top of Kingsley Heights and to the lookout offer stunning views over Upper Hutt. There is a mixture of nice gentle gradients, steps and stepper narrower bush walks. Great for exercising.

The rest of the park offers really great off-street parking, awesome playground for all age children, including a skatepark. A all-season soccer and hockey turf attracts plenty of sport and is the most pleasant setting and weather conditions of any similar venue in the whole Wellington region. New tennis court for the local club are a bonus.

Sunday mornings once a month there is a miniature railway that runs for children. A must do.

Maidstone Park is a great facility near Mitre 10 Mega in Upper Hutt
I walked my dog round the permitted areas. Meanwhile families took their kids to the safe play area. Skateboarders have their own space and there are rugby, cricket and softball zones too. Within 5 minutes walk there is also a rollerskating facility. Well worth a look!

A great place to stretch your legs, absolutely gorgeous on a good day - sits alongside the river with the hills as its backdrop. Very easy nature walk on the flat and a great way to stretch the legs. A good kids park in the distance for kids to run around. Clean public toilets.
