I think this Museum is run by volunteers, so opening times can be erratic. It took us a few visits to find it open. The museum is done very well, and the setting in a run down theater is perfect. Take time to watch the...More

I didn't know about this fateful expedition and was very moved and pleased to learn about it. The Normandy coast has many spots like this and it is very moving to think what happened here in the past.

At the far end of the sea front promenade is the Dieppe medieval castle followed by a cliffs coastline south. Built into the walls is a beautiful garden of remembrance and tribute to the extreme bravery of the Canadian army in 1942. Such bravery in...More

A relatively simple but none-the-less moving memorial that touchingly connects the French Canadians to their brethren they came to help.

Two parts to this ‘attraction’; the memorial garden to the Canadians and the museum. The garden is small and allows for quiet reflection. The museum has an informative video loop and some interesting personal stories of the abortive 1942 raid

A fitting tribute to the many troops of Canadian and other nationalities who lost their lives in the ill fated raid of 1942 executed despite advice by Mountbatten.

Learnt a lot more about Canadian heroes and Dieppe' gratitude to them. Easy access from seafront and new swimming pool area as well as older area of cit and castle.

This garden was a pleasant surprise. Placed in the shadow of the chateau, it honours Canadian soldiers who partook both in Operation Jubilee, the disastrous raid in 1942, and the liberation of Dieppe in 1944.

This museum is not for the faint hearted and is not that big. Staff are very motivated. Recommended at the end of stay in Dieppe as it makes the attack more real. The highlight for me was French newspaper report of attack

The people that run this memorial museum give and present an excellent story of the disastrous raid on Dieppe. The give a good speech of how the raid brought hope to the area that liberation would come. The story is present with a wide array...More
