Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I did a 2 day cycle on the Otago Rail Trail,Otarehua to Clyde. We chose E Bikes as my wife is a novice cyclist and found them to be extremely comfortable. The whole trip was smooth sailing from our communications at the beginning, transporting bags to Ophir to our accommodation, fitting the bikes, getting us to our start point, then following an excellent itinerary to get us back to Clyde. My wife enjoyed it so much she is now looking forward to our next cycling holiday. Shebikeshebikes were fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone wondering who to get to organise their Rail Trail holiday

I've been so impressed with this company, from my first enquiries from Australia. Carol was really helpful with my apprehension about being non-riders, with back and neck stiffness, And both of us being over 6'tall!. Yes, she promised E-bikes to suit, and they were perfect. My husband's bike could easily have taken a person over 6'2". (That's him, barely touching the ground on the lowest seat height). They are reasonably heavy, though. We met a very short woman on the trail, and she had to give up... simply couldn't hold the bike up. We are now BIG fans of E-bikes.
We were picked up from our hotel in Queenstown, and our driver Jim was great company on the drive out to Clyde where we were due to start our 4 day ride, filling us in on local history . It was pouring rain, but hey, that's part of the adventure, isn't it? The team at the depot in Clyde were very helpful, setting up the bikes for individual requirements,I know we tied them up for a while, not having been on a bike for a proper ride, except a toddle on the local paths. Their recommendations for food stops and the incredibly detailed route descriptions were excellent. The trail itself is very clear to follow, and maps weren't really needed as we just kept pushing on til we go to each night's accommodation. The real beauty of this trip lies in the freedom to stop as often as you want, to soak in the scenery. We savoured moments that we will hold forever in our memories, and the quiet....
All thanks to the team at Omakau depot. At the end of the first days ride my bike had really suffered from the wet trail, brakes grinding with the grit thrown up. We rode in to the depot, they took both bikes from us, charged them overnight, and had them ready for us the next morning clean and repaired.
Equipment tips: unexpected best item = fine wool neck gaiter, started as just that, then over the mouth and nose like a balaclava, then took a tip from another rider and pulled it over our ears, under the MacPac cap (with decent brim to keep rain off glasses!)
Thanks Shebikeshebikes! Have raved about you to anybody interested. I'd love to do some of this again.

A bunch of us rode the Otago Rail Trail Feb/March 2021 booked through SheBikesHeBikes and we had the most fabulous time. SheBikesHeBikes completed our whole tour programme and we cannot fault it. It was fantastic. The staff were outstanding and extremely helpful and went out if there way to make our trip memorable. We got cancelled in 2020 because of lockdown and the staff just sorted everything out for us and rescheduled us to new dates in 2021. Can’t say enough of SheBikesHeBikes and will definitely use them again.

Thanks for organising our trip on the Otago Rail Trail! Was flawless. Booking was a breeze, we customised our personal itinerary with suggestions from Shebikeshebikes and we were off! Cant recommend this company highly enough.

Collected in Queenstown, shuttled to Clyde, fitted with our bikes and off the next morning. Opted for a 4 day trip with luggage transported daily and were driven from Middlemarch to Dunedin airport the day following the end of our journey on a private shuttle.

What a breathtakingly beautiful autumn ride it was. The rolling landscape, the exceptional vistas, bridges, viaducts, tunnels, history, heritage...and rabbits, soooo many rabbits. Couple that with outstanding South Island hospitality from every restaurant, bar, cafe and museum we ventured into all made for a cracking 4 day ride.

The Otago Rail Trail is suitable for all fitness levels, its not a race. Track is easy to ride (am 52 & havent ridden a bike in decades)

Pro Tip - hire a step thru ebike and get a padded gel seat cover to go with it - life saver.

We used SheHeBikes for our family of four to cycle 90 of the 150kms of the Central Otago Rail Trail. They were great every step of the way and worked with my husband to make we sure we had the excellent cycling tour that we did. We were outfitted with excellent bikes and equipment, they set us up in lovely fantastic accommodations along the trail, they moved our luggage every day, and they had our car waiting for us at the end of our ride. Can't recommend them enough, v top notch and professional, go with SheBikesHeBikes.

We were very happy with the services provided by Shebikeshebikes. Right from our first enquires we found them to be well- organised and helpful. Our bikes were very comfortable for our 4 day ride (I had been nervous about that but the wide seats were very comfortable) and the accommodations were excellent. We enjoyed the slow travel through the beautiful green pasturelands and seeing all the sheep and lambs and meeting locals along the way. The train ride at the end from Middlemarch to Dunedin was very scenic and a nice way to finish. I really appreciated shebikeshebikes advice to ride from Clyde to Middlemarch to avoid headwinds as we had been considering the opposite - in the end, we were very lucky with the weather which helped the overall enjoyment. The trail gradient was not difficult - the second day was solid but not so difficult. The last 2 days were downhill and much easier. Enjoyed our meals and beers at the pubs along the way. In particular, we enjoyed staying at Dunstan House in Clyde and our meals at Olivers restaurant just over the road were outstanding.

We had a group of 23 made up of 5 families (10 adults, 13 kids aged 9-16) and She Bikes He Bikes deftly organised the whole trip for us. We'd had a small atttempt to organise it ourselves a while ago and through word of mouth heard about She Bikes He Bikes. We had decided it was not really do-able for such a large group but She Bikes He Bikes easily pulled the accommodation and itinerary together. They gave great advice on ebikes v mountain bikes for the kids and all in all the trip went without a hitch. We all loved it and would highly recommend She Bikes He Bikes.

Excellent service and excellent experience with shebikeshebikes… very responsive in helping us organise and book our day with lots of good advice and a sensible approach to maximise the day and have a great time. We did the Lake Dunstan Trail… one of us on a bike and one on foot, the team helped us with multiple drops offs for starting points and the bike we hired was in good condition, comfortable and easy to use. All round it was perfect!

Our family completed the new Dunstan trail on Monday. A fabulous day was had by us all. The equipment was top notch and prepared for us in advance. The team work very well together and produce a well organized and professional event. I highly recommend She Bikes He Bikes to anyone wanting to spend time in our stunning and untouched environment. Just so you know, our ages were 75, 72, 52 and 51..... So no excuse not to get out and do it! Make sure you take some cash to support the local crew down on the boats that allow you to have coffee or a meal on the shore line.

Three of us all 60 + males did the Classic Otago Rail Trail over four days , three nights accommodation and can fully recommend taking the time to enjoy this classic. Shebikeshebikes were quick to answer an early email (Suzie) and were very helpful and professional while delivering a relaxed service. Inverlair lodge for the second night is to be highly recommended, excellent hosts and venue while also delivering the relaxed service that makes this trip so great. Feels like the whole community along the trail is on board with making it an economic and social win. Graham , Brian & Mike
