Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really nice walk with a range of undergrowth. Even some very wind swept trees which show how much the wind blows here. Weka are all over the island. Rock formations are interesting

This Reserve is fantastic, very easy to get to, you walk through the paddocks from the road, the tracks are well maintained, then there is bush, the lovely lime rocks and then down to the dunes and along the beach if you wish. You can take the long track or the short track, also take a mountain bike if you wish. A great place to visit and have a picnic on the way or just stop and admire the view.

A beautiful forest walk listening to the forest birds and experience the Fantail fly around you picking of the insects as you walk. The forest gives way to a magnificent coastline that takes your breath away.

We decided to do a little exploring this day. Saw the sign Henga Reserve Discovered the reserve is a series of tracks meandering through one of the few remaining small stands of native bush on the island. Department of Conservation, responsible for maintaining tracks and reserve vegetation on the island have labelled and rated the tracks insofar as time to walk and distance, whether the track is one way or is a loop and includes difficulty - long climb etc..
The first sign observed is a warning of the distribution of rodent poison including potassium cyanide. All baits are apparently contained in plastic bait stations. Possums are in abundance on the island.

This has a well developed trail , easy walk. You will see Weka's everywhere, once you get into the limestone part ( you are sure you will see some Druid type people doing a ritual ) the fan tail birds will almost land on you, then on to a fantastic view of the beach, you can hike down to it. Amazing!

… well signposted from the road. A variety of bush, and scrub once you get across the pathway through the paddocks. There are a couple of alternative tracks including a fairly long beach and dune portion (which we did not try!)
