Feb 2019
My partner and I traveled to New Zealand from Sydney in Feb 2019.
We were lucky enough to be invited along for a tour of the Hurunui Hills Farm on a sunny Saturday morning
Scotty and his vivacious fiance Rachael were kind enough to pick us up from the Hurunui Hotel where we were staying. From the get-go we were met with a warm welcome, funny conversation and some hilarious kiwi commentary from Scotty, who truly is an awesome character.

Upon arrival at the Hurunui Hills Farm, we were greeted by Scotty's welcoming parents who have been a part of the farm's long history in the family. We were given the opportunity to be driven around the property and learn about the different types livestock housed on the farm (including the gorgeous working dogs) and were able to get super close to both the sheep and the cattle. All the while we were accompanied by Scotty and his witty account of the history of the farm as well as the modern day practices applied by his family.

The tour of the farm was rounded up by a visit to the property's small greenhouse, where we were able to taste test some epic cherry tomatoes. Mouth watering!

All in all, we would highly recommend the tour to anyone travelling through this area of the Canterbury. Scotty is a warm, comedic and informative tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our day out on the farm. Thanks Scotty and Rachael!
